Don't know if these are known about. Searched the internet but could find anything. They have just been added to Smyths here in the UK. Pictures and details only. No estimated release date. The synergy between the lines right now is pretty solid. Hopefully they're testing this model for Generations, because it's so close to Erector.
Oh man, If this ends up in some of the main lines like Generations And Cyberverse lines. Heck, it be great if they made some Battle Stations that will replace the Spark Armor format, Heck they could test it out with a "Retool" of Cyberverse Elite Class Optimus with a new Trailer Without a doubt. These would be rather fun to have. Heck imagine these with plenty of 5mm pegs and holes. And some Siege-style 3mm pegs and C-clip accessories.
I was hoping the "Optimus plus trailer" tease was gong to be a new PMOP that better fit into the Siege/Leader mold. Paving the way for a new Godbomber.
I like them - I wonder if they will do some more ? Perhaps they could do a double blade Chinook style Helicopter that docks with Blades ? Looks like the tool arms have 5mm mouting on them too so those could be put to other uses too. The only improvement they could have made is perhaps a few 5mm ports to put rescue Minicons or Energon weapons on (or something else as yet unreleased) & perhaps have the ability to link them together end to end or daisy chain the trailers. I bet they make something similar for Optimus too.
I like the modular play form factor going on here. The G1 Optimus had a trailer that turned into a repair bay, so these sets speak to me in much the same way.
...i continue to be impressed by the engineering of the rescue bots toyline: far more laudable than the cyberverse figures, which my wife has occasionally dabbled in to our mutual disappointment... ...really hasbro only needs 3 (+1) toylines: rescue bots for younger children, generations for adolescents, and studio series for mature collectors...if they frame the media and characters right, they could all be vaguely set in the same millieu for cross-compatibility as fans age into more-sophisticated demographics, with the masterpiece line serving as the ultimate aspiration for deep-pocketed adult collectors...
I was just poking about seeing what was around and I noticed this version of Medix I'd not ever seen on a shelf : I also noticed The Bulldozer Boulder is finally back in the assortments. which might be useful for those who couldn't find the cast giftset.
what size are these? the main characters looks like they might be rescan sized rther than the big 11 inch ones. that would make this the first rescan wedge that is the right type of vehicle. but would also make hoist similar but not the same to the 4-pack one. if theyre rescan sized seems likely theyll be released without the trailer like hook and ladder heatwave and claw chase and atv bumblebee and racing trailer optimus theyre really wringing every last drop from that atv bumblebee/hot shot mold
If it shares any parts it's likely only the transformation armature - it's got a brand new alt mode which looks like a Mercedes Jeep like vehicle to me. I'm sure the ones with the trailers are Rescan size as they have done similar products before for Rescan series.
