Love 44's truck mode so much. Big improvement over MP-10 in so many ways - gas tank placement, ladder placement, opening doors, trailer attachment, trailer distance from cab, etc

Goes so perfectly with the other anime leaning cars (Day of the Machines nod here)

One day, I hope Takara can give us a display like that at a show. I love to see all the carbots in altmode at a show on display.

I still love my MP10 to bits. Both figures were created with wholly different design philosophies and there's absolutely room for both IMO.

There's no denying that MP44 is the definitive G1 cartoon Optimus Prime (for now) but MP10 looks terrific as a hyper-stylized, "realistic" mecha-take on the character.

    Hooray for options!

And it may even surprise people to know that it's possible that the same designer(s) worked on both(I don't know for sure but hopefully it's elaborated on in future interviews).

More Day of the Machines inspired shots. One of my favorite episodes. It's action packed, has incredible animation (sharp, angular, lots of low 3/4 shots), and Prime is at his ass kicking best, which MP-44 represents so beautifully. I just feel lucky that these figures exist and I get to own 'em.

    Very cool good work!

Great pics! Day of the Machines is a cool episode...one of the few times they can let loose since they’re fighting “drones” in a sense...

Thanks, SW! Yeah, G1 TF was a bit more violent overall than its contemporaries like GI Joe. Might've been on one of the bonus docs from a G1 DVD where a writer or producer talked about how they were allowed to have them beat the hell out of each other because they were robots.

Btw, still no knee problems! And still enjoying the transformation. Don't do it often enough to be fast yet, but it still feels intuitive, everything locks together really well on my copies, the results are well worth it (love both modes), and there's a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when complete, akin to solving a tricky puzzle.

That's a good thing? I think it sits too far back and looks goofy. In alt mode, that's by far my biggest complaint.

I thought the whole point was toon accuracy now... And I think it depends on the model. I don't think it's that way across the board for real life semis.

They're still going for realistic vehicles, though, just with more cartoon accurate decos.
