Pardon my French, but that’s a really stupid reason to not get a toy.

Don’t use the stand or just turn it around.

It could’ve been so much more if it cut out the Cybertron scenes entirely and just been a nice, simple movie about Bumblebee having an adventure.

 

Or just hide the text, or rub it off with something.

 

I'm guessing it's because they made the details and patterning on it a lot more obvious than it was in the movie, making the face a little overcomplicated visually when it was just right in the movie.

 

I can understand that. I mean, I don’t mind too much. It’s not disgustingly messy.

I also can't help but think that at some point we'll get the inevitable sequel and Threezero will come up with another, maybe better release for me.

 

Dude, just buy it. I’m not trying to control your money, but you can just throw out the box, put some rubbing alcohol across the name plate, and you’ll never know unless someone reminds you. Cause even if they do make another, which I supremely doubt, it’s not gonna be that different.

 

I literally mentioned it's not so much about the name on the stand as it is about the idea of the great Optimus Prime being a secondary character.

I meant it could've been so much more if it was exactly the opposite of what you said. Thought I was pretty clear on that since I've been literally complaining about not getting enough Prime from this movie.

I can't be the only one taking such factors into consideration before buying a relatively expensive figure.

 

Why doubt it? From what it looks like, these new designs are here to stay. We can expect some changes but how bing can they be? I mean, you saw how different the beetle and the camaro are and how little Bee's design has changed when he switched form between them.

 

I think you’re just making a hassle for yourself. If you like Optimus so much wouldn’t you buy it cause you like him? If the fact he’s a secondary character in the movie is making you not want to buy him, and you want this figure, then I think you’ll feel a lot better if you just ignore that and buy it cause you like the design.

I think you’re probably the only one taking it this seriously.

I don’t think 3A make that many cause it’d be super minor changes. They don’t operate that way. The only they’ve retooled a Prime was their DotM into AoE Prime. If their are some super minor changes in the design I don’t think that will warrant a whole new figure.

Hypothetically, they make an Optimus movie and he’s the focus. 3A rereleases this figure and it’s exactly the same. Are you more motivated to buy that? Or will you still be reminded of how he was a secondary character in the BB Movie?

This really isn’t that hard. Either you don’t want this toy or you do. Fiction has no control on what you buy.

 

Well, as I said earlier, I do realize I'm complicating things with this mindset and I know many other people have it. Let's not act like this has never been heard of before. Media does have its part of influence, media makes these things. It dictates how important a character is. Hell, it dictates how "cool and badass" it looks, that's why we buy it. This is a controversial topic.

My concern is 3A actually releasing that Hypothetical figure in the future (which I would be more motivated to get, yes), maybe with slight retools and different accessories to justify "re-releasing" it. I wouldn't want to find myself regret getting this one. But I also heard what you said about how 3A works and now I'm not so sure I'd want to risk missing out completely on this design.

anyways lol, while everyone else is arguing i'm happy to say i finally preordered him! i was hoping to find this guy at tfcon, but I guess he wasnt availible yet though I did see him displayed at threeandup's booth and got to hold him. man, he's so nice ;_;
