I just skipped through the review, but it seems really barebones in terms of the accessories and weapons. I was hoping it'd be loaded like the Ninja ones were.
Skimmed over the review quickly.. Not to bad, might consider this (and watch it get sold out in a flash if I try and get and order in). Ronin Samurais' don't carry much of weapons and accessories at all. The only thing of value to them are the katanas and wakizashi based on what I've been reading about Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo in which it was based in the Edo period. Ronin Wolvie didn't have fancy weapons either, just the two swords and his scarf.
Less accessories than I expected but it makes sense, I'll try to get it. But what I really want / hope for, is a variant of the assassin version to be released on their site.
Yeah I know it makes sense but still hoped for more knowing the line. Yeah that's what I was really hoping this would be.
More details folks. One:12 Collective Gomez - Lone Roach & Grub $90 USD with a NRD of $22.50, to be shipped between December and January 2020 right after Designer Con. Edit: SOLD OUT
So you got a order in @Drangleic, I'm on the email waitlist for now... I might get a copy, but not counting in it.
This blows, this is a character they have full control over. You would think they offer more, no reason they should sell out in seconds. I got lucky this time but not with the previous versions. And the inevitable next version will be another preordering mess all over again.
what the hell, was this even up for 30 min? oh well, guess I didn't need it. I was already disappointed in the footwear choice and the lack of a skull head (or something more else more fitting for a samurai)
Was there any Gomez Exclusives that was actually fulfilled by anyone here while waiting for an opening? Like what @nutsfu mentioned, Mezco has control over Gomez and you wish that they will have a bit more for extra stock/account for spoilage (I think that they do). Well... If I can get a Gomez, not going to fuss over it, I'm still in for Ghost Rider. @theestampede: The orders where open for at least 10 mins (or less) and Sold Out very quickly.
I was being sarcastic. It was in stock and by the time I got to process order it was gone out of my cart. Typical Mezco shenanigans. I ain't even mad though. Hope that you get one at least. I didn't join the wait list.
Well they definitely make them to be scarce, but they did put the Agent Gomez up for another run, that PO was up for a few days. But things like this they aren't making a lot of. It's a DesignerCon exclusive, so that's kind of what they're making it for, and that's a small Con, I'm sure this was less than 1000 units. It was up for about 10 minutes. They have control over him yeah, but this is still a limited release and that's what they want. I was able to meet Mez (Mezco President) at SDCC and he was pretty cool to talk to, but (judging a book by it's cover) he really looked like a guy who's into Supreme and stuff like that. Intentionally making low runs of stuff to drive demand is part of their brand I think.
So is there a John Wick coming from Mezco that isn’t an exclusive? I remember pictures, but I don’t recall an official listing that wasn’t the exclusive one. I was considering buying the Diamond Select, but I’d really like to try out Mezco.
No but I don't think you'll have too much trouble finding it on the aftermarket. Mezco left the preorder up for a couple days, so it was kind of a made to order exclusive rather than them deciding the quantity. I'm sure people bought it the first day thinking it was an exclusive and will have extras to move.
Don’t understand the flurry of Gomez releases. Is there really that much of a demand for their roach-faced mascot?
No licensing fees mean more profit is my guess. They've been solid sellers. Though maybe they wouldn't be good sellers if they were just general releases and not exclusives? I don't really know. Mezco is really hard to understand. I kind of stopped trying to though.
It was up for preorder last week but sold out. It'll be for sale in person at DesignerCon in Anaheim in a couple weeks.
