Man that new package Whirl looks pretty good for a one step

(Trying not to rant about bumblebee's name being plastered on the package)

I had to double-check the location; i know tariffs are forcing prices up but 59.90 for One-Steps seems a bit severe.

I was thinking the same about Whirl being G1-ish...

HOWEVER, you must remember the plastic quality is horrible now. Especially on these "kid" toys, Hasbro is noticeably using cheaper materials because they know kids won't hold these toys for more than a few months.

Back in the 80s, when plastic was cheaper, Hasbro spent more on the materials to make solid toys that would not splinter apart and create lawsuits. Today? They do the bare minimum in quality to achieve the same goal and make as much money as they can from the shrinking kid market. I'm kind of surprised these 1-steps are still around, to be honest. I see the toy industry moving more toward those "Titan" toys: large, hollow, and cheaply made. Those things are everywhere! I found some DC Titan toys at DSW shoe store! :lol

Just remember that the plastic quality on Hasbro toys has been declining (save for the more expensive Generations products, maybe).

These toys have nicer detail, and look a lot more fun than your usual 1-steps. I shop mostly in the more deluxe-sized Warrior Class figures, but I might be interested in a few of these. Maybe Whirl (i don't have any of his figures) or Wheeljack (Generations G1 Deluxe and TFP Legends/Legion)...

Always up for a new Whirl toy, but I was hoping that if there was one it was for EarthWars and not Cyberverese.

Not into one-steps myself, but it’s good seeing these characters get toys regardless.

I'm really shocked that Hasbro hasn't used the auto-transform technology better for Transformers. the RID Crash Combiners were pretty half-assed compared to what even they are doing with Bakugan, or what Young Toys in South Korea is doing with Tobots. Instead of hollow Ark Armor Optimus with super elongated truck mode, the kids in South Korea have this:
. I know which robot toy my grandkids would rather have under the Christmas tree. Whirl looks pretty good for a $10 toy. Bludgeon doesn't look bad. I'll give Hasbro credit for those. They really are shitting their own bed when they do most of their Cyberverse toys tho. They always use what big box stores will and won't buy as an excuse, but if they offered one or two big pieces like the video, it would get those toy buyers excited. Instead hot toy of the year will be some Ryan's Toy egg or another Elmo doll that does a curtsey.

Oof, from a side view Whirl's head does... not look good. Otherwise he's fine.

As for Bludgeon, it's nice to finally see a 1-step changer with a (detachable) weapon.

I believe this is the first Cyberverse figure to have a detachable weapon.

    Yeah, but... except for...

Huh. I can't believe I never noticed that before, you're right.

Well, unless you want to count the "Authentics" dollar store versions. Or the Spark Armor.

Now how about a Blastwave repaint of Bludgeon?

Also, the best one step changers were the Gravity Bots. Extremely simple and no articulation at all, but I liked the gimmick. I’d like them to bring that gimmick back.
