Terry's surprisingly fun. He feels like what I wanted Ryu and Ken to be like in this game.

Well, this has my attention now. Haven't played Smash in months (I still can't get into the whole 'Spirits' thing, doesn't feel like Smash in the slightest compared to the masterpiece that was Brawl) but I'd gladly buy all the fighters if it means being able to see what happens when Kirby eats Doomguy.

Been trying to get better with Hero since he's from my favorite game series. Still can't use his spells very effectively though...

 

All I can say about the remaining DLC Fighters is that if somebody doesn't get in, blame Nintendo. They gave Sakurai a list of possible fighters. Sakurai is allowed to decide what fighters he wants in the game (as long as they are characters that can be fun to play as and not just be cause they are recognizable).

 

Yeah, come to think of it, it be kinda interesting to see more characters with fun playstyles.

For example, i'd find it interesting to see Blaster Master's Jason Frudnick to be playable, especially if he depicted with his Zero incarnation's attacks & weapons. He'd basically have a good moveset covered. Plus we didn't have any Sunsoft representation yet. And he's a nother well-known NES era hero. Heck, he would have an alt based on his original NES appearance. Or at least have a palate based on it. I guess he would come with Music & Remixes from the Original & Zero incarnations along with some songs from Blasting Again, Overdrive and perhaps pull an "SNK update" and include music from other well known Sunsoft games.

Spirits would be based on some of the Enemy Mutants, Eve, Alex, His pet frog Fred & perhaps some antagonists of the series.

For the stage to accompany it might be a bit trickier. Considering that most stages in the original games we just called "Area 1", "Area 2"... You get what i mean. I guess they could be based on something from Blaster Master Zero 2 as it is the most recent game. But i'm rather uncertain about where to go in that direction.

 

Well they did confirm a second wave of dlc so more fighters are coming. One complaint on the smash forums a lot is why no female fighter dlc. Even gamexplain complained over no female fighters. (a female terry alt would have helped that but Nintendo didn't do that)

I would like crash to make it in the second wave of dlc. Then we would have all the main mascots! (crash and lora croft were playstations mascots in the ps1 days!)

 

It brings a tear to my eye finding someone else thinking he'd be a cool Smash character, too... I need to find that thread here where we come up with so I can post my idea for his stuff!

 

Can we please get a playable Shantae now?!

 

Yeah, Terry plays exactly how I expected him to play, he might end up being a new main

As for fighter 5, I'm aboard the Doomtrain mainly for the utter bonkers prospect of Doomguy being on the same screen as Isabelle, Kirby and Pikachu

I'd imagine they'd be picking characters both based on how fun they could be as well as bringing big names into the mix, picking characters that best represent a certain company or franchise, etc. In that regards, if there's a chance for more female characters, I'd imagine Jill Valentine, Chun Li, Lara Croft, FF6's Terra or Shantae would be good choices to bring in. tbh, a lot of names I see constantly tossed around(like Reimu....) don't sound very fun

 

Was kinda hoping to see the female versions of the Heroes from Dragon Quest III and IV...

 

I stills say Scorpion or Sub-Zero. And both of them can easily be "toned down" enough to fit without losing their moves or such.

 

MK's basically banned in Japan though, so through just that I think they're unlikely.

I got my personal favourites, and Doomguy is up there along with Geno

 

Mk 11 is banned.. Not MK in general from what I understand.

 

They could even be easily become echo fighters of each other in an way like Simon & Richter are, but in a more extensive fashion. Considering they could basically have a similar set up. Plus they would be a nother duo of fighters that use command attacks.

I'm no good with Terry. I find inputs awkward to work with using an analog stick and for an averagely skilled player his recovery is not so great. Fun to beat up on the people trying him out for the first few times though xD.

I don't even really like/play Halo but I really want Master Chief in the game. How cool would Snake versus M.C. be? Would also like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon in the game to kinda round out my early 3D platforming nostalgia, maybe Rayman and Bomberman too (even though he is an assist trophy already). I kinda gave up on first party characters and assume we will get an assload in the next iteration of smash since it probably won't be so 3rd party heavy compared to Ultimate.
