Roche and Roberts was the best thing about IDW1.

 

One of those was great, the other frequents tumblr too much.

 

You misspelled Simon Furman and E. J. Su.

 

The “ation” series was so damn good. Still a bit bitter that they cucked Furman.

 

Yeah, they were good but Furman went crazy and gained delusions of grandeur. His later IDW work is not that good really.

And I prefer Roche and Roberts still. Roberts may not have a perfect record of high quality issues, but I’d rather read a bad issue of Lost Light than any issue of Optimus Prime it IDW2. Roberts’ stories were just far more entertaining to read, even the bad ones (which were only “bad” due to being too goofy or ridiculous of a premise. And I could tell the ending of Lost Light was being rushed due to lack of remaining issues to finish the story in. But even so, a truly bad comic book is bland, dull, tedious, uninteresting and a chore to read that I just can’t connect to any of the characters or the story on a personal level. That’s how I felt about Optimus Prime and IDW2.
