I do find the posts that seem to suggest that people are horrified by a themepark-exclusive figure being expensive amusing. Afterall, themeparks are known for reasonable prices, right?

So you’d rather a character that we need be a hard to come by exclusive rather than a random repaint that makes total sense given where it’s exclusive to?

no I'm saying i rather not have these exclusives part of the SS line!..... i rather of had a regular release figure take its spot and be a character we need and have this megatron not be number 48 but still exist but not as a SS figure

Exclusives are kinda isolated as is, they don’t “take spots” in the line from mass retail toys. Like if this Megs got made or not, the mass retail SS line probably would not have its number of figures affected.

it does technically take a spot because if it wasn't an exclusive it would be at mass retail so like i said taking a spot

So you're just being OCD about the numbers, then? Because what SinisterSpinister's saying is that the toy doesn't take a development slot, and exists outside that production flow.

I hate to necrobump an old thread but has anyone seen this figure at Universal yet? Cause while I have the retail DOTM Megs I kinda want this release more.

Nobody has seen it anywhere. Best bet is to keep checking the universal online store like I do.

I think the reason for some annoyance at this being an exclusive is that it is part of Studio Series. This has a perfectly normal SS designation, despite it only being available in one theme park in one country. This figure is irrevocably part of the Studio Series lineup. You’re not gonna be able to get this is Thailand, or Norway, or Ireland or somewhere else a few hundred miles (and a few thousand dollars) away from Orlando. This is to force completionists to either go to Florida and buy it or get it online, both for $60 AND the cost of postage/the ticket to get into the park. I don’t care about SS or completionism, but I can see why people would be pissed off.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that OCD is the problem here.

Well, yeah. Again, none of this effects me, but Hasbro and Universal are banking on that OCD. That’s the reason it’s exclusive.

Yeah. If your a studio series completionist. This is a bit of a dick move. Doesn't effect me. But I totally get it.

I’m an annual pass-holder, when this comes out, feel free to DM me. I’ll sell them to you at cost + actual shipping + $5 (not too much of a markup, better than eBay and it’s just to cover the effort of going over there); I go to Universal once or twice a month.

About as sound a plan as any, I noticed they also stopped selling Evac on the online store. They only have Optimus, Bumblebee, and Snarl now.

I'll keep this post in mind SeahawkSpeed, if I can get this release I'll likely sell my retail Megs. I don't hate it or nothing but I like the silver deco and the capeless look.

Here’s an idea: someone just call their store and ask their staff.
