    Man..it looks great..

But I'm burnt out on G1. I'm not buying anything "G1" anymore. I grew up with it when it hit the shelves, and I kinda appreciate Hasbro giving the respect..

    But for F#@%s sake...

Just freakin shelve G1 for a bit...make something new...make us MISS G1 for a bit

Yet every time Optimus prime is released its someone’s first Optimus prime. Not for someone in their 30s and 40s but ya know..these are for kids too.

I keep saying this, but why not a Battle Master?

Have Megatron shrink down to ACTUAL gun size, like the cartoon, and have him be wielded by the ever-trustworthy Starscream.

No reason they couldn't do a gun mode if it's scaled-down that small.

    And? Gun Megs IS tiny.

What's the point of a gun Megs if you can't have your toys shoot with him?

(I mean, I get it, people want a G1 Megatron, but that is never happening ever again outside of Masterpiece. Even orange caps, even clearly-fake guns don't save kids from being shot by cops.)

I own the original Galaxy Force Prime and the original figure is WAY better... but it also would be a Commander class figure today. Also Seige Galaxy Prime is hindered by having to be a retool of Ultra Magnus. Considering that, it's actually an extremely loving and effective homage.

They've done full-on A/E/C characters more show-accurate than the original toys (I'm thinking specifically of Armada Hot Shot and Armada Starscream) and they also did a couple halfway homages (Combiner Wars Armada Megs, Seige Galaxy Optimus Prime). Plus Seige Magnus is basically RiD 2000's Magnus.

Well, obviously G1 is the wellspring, but I'd say only the WFC Netflix series is "GEEWUN." Cyberverse is extremely different from traditional G1 aside from the very broad strokes, and the live action films are the same. I see what you mean but deviating too far from what people think "Transformers" are risks diluting the brand. Because there are lots of transforming robot toys, but how many have had a pretty much continuous presence since 1984?

I dunno. I'm pretty much mister Geewun. I remember clamoring for exactly what we're getting now -- on alt.toys.transformers, during the first season of BW. And at this point even I'm kind of ready for the next thing. I have a nearly complete G1 Masterpiece collection (seasons 1-4) and I'm like one or two obscure characters away from having a complete G1 CHUG collection. Whatever I was looking for in terms of 'physical embodiment of the cartoon I grew up with'... I have at this point. In the "Trukk Not Munky" days this seemed impossible. But now even hardcore fans are kind of exhausted. How many toon-accurate Optimuses can one man have?

Looks great - would have much preferred yellow eyes but fuck it, easily remedied.

Suspicions though, that this has been customised. More than happy to be wrong though. Tremendous looking thing.

You could make a MicroMaster Megatron and and Bundle him with a Leader priced Megatron that he sits inside of. The Micromaster could Transform into Targetmaster Pistol. The Voyager Megatron Powersuit could have a Black Helmet and puppet mouth.
He would be able to legit hold himself.
It would make for an awesome story line where he would Pretend to be normal intimidating Megatron but actually be a MicroMaster.

Bonus points if he was a BrainMaster too.

    I want this show now.

Salute to Hasbro for painting the hands blue. Wish they were molded in blue but it's something. Also glad the eyes are blue for consistency. Wouldn't mind yellow eyes if the toy was full on G1 toy colors with chrome or metallic legs and if the blue was more indigo.

Do wish the back of the head was matte instead of the same metallic as the hands. The RED looks way better here than it does on SIEGE Prime so that's a big step up for me.

As for the leaks, regardless of where the images are removed, it doesn't matter anymore, they've been shared throughout social media even by etailers. The leaks actually worked in Hasbro's favor because they only served to increase hype and demand for this Prime.

Hasbro should be happy as what was shown today is closer to final product as it will appear on shelves rather than some handpainted mockup/prototype or their usual stock/box photo samples that are digitally airbrushed to hell on Photoshop under exaggerated artificial lighting or renders using colors not indicative of the final production toy. So the hype for this toy today after the leaks, the hype is literally real. Maybe internally Hasbro corporate thinks they took an L for this leak but this to me is a win whether they realize it or not.

There's usually complaints about how toys don't match the renders, but now we have a case where people like the toy more than the render.

Take the wins when you get them. Don't punish the leaker when they yet again did a better job advertising the toy and inadvertently drove up demand.

But the pictures were shared with confidence and trust. That's a concern I hope we can get pictures like this in the future, but if we break trust...

This is a brilliant solution. You wouldn't even have to make him a battle master... you could Make a Voyager-sized tank or copter Megs who turns into a G1-looking bot mode, and include a 5mm-peghole G1 megatron gun sized to be held by other figures. (Kind of like how MP Laserwave includes a tiny gun mode version of himself he can hold) ...Problem solved.

You're misunderstanding where I'm coming from. The person who actually took the pics and shared them in confidence I think, Hasbro shouldn't really blame them. This is the Internet this is 2019, you have toys being manufactured in different countries, leaks like this aren't all too surprising they just don't happen at the frequency they used to 10 years ago.

As for sharing the pics in confidence, these days it's hard to find anyone that WON'T share the pics. If you got them in confidence and didn't share them, then good. If you did share them when your source said not to well, the natural conclusion is that we probably won't get as much leaked information in the future. Even if the pics were taken down it doesn't matter anymore, you can go on Facebook and see the pics plastered all over it.
