That's a bit belligerent of a response. Most people on here had preordered this figured based on product shots made available. Those photos all show a 'Blue' figure. The one that has arrived is 'Purple'. Not a darker blue or a lighter blue, but Purple. To suggest they should 'sell and move on', isn't so easily done. There's time and effort required to do so, and recovering costs on a currently readily available figure may mean taking a loss. I believe people have the right to voice their frustrations over this or at least deserved more accurate product shots prior to release - so they could make a final decision before the item shipped. It's clear this was kept under wraps on purpose to avoid lost sales. The product doesn't even match the box art or instruction booklet. The paint color was messed up in production and they don't want to take the hit to have it redone, so they shipped. It's bullshit.

So sell it. If it's really that much of problem it's easy to do no matter how much you plead otherwise. If you take a hit then learn the lesson to never preorder Fanstoys figures ever again.

Or bitch and moan about something that's not gonna change and blindly preorder their stuff knowing their history.

    Either or.

I think the point is, it's not going to change anything right now. People can wait, if they choose to do so, and see if FT would release a different colored version; in the blue that some people like. @dalianjj already mentioned that they don't have any plans (currently) to do a recolor. The color issue has been talked about, ad nauseam. If people who bought this figure are really not that happy with the purchase, just sell it off.

I'm not overly worked up over the color, look at any of my other posts - I haven't dwelled on it. My issue with the comment made is 'that people should just accept it and take the loss'. If the customer base is upset, then these forums allow them to vent their frustrations. While that may not fix this issue, it may change how business is done for future releases. Perhaps instead of telling people to lose money on something they just bought by selling it, you just skip past the posts that don't interest you and move on yourself. Third Party success lives and dies with their fan base - they're not too big to fail like a Hasbro would be. They need to listen to their fan base.

It's pretty much - at this point - as you mentioned 'that people should just accept it and take the loss'. Yes, I agree that people should be able to vent their frustrations, being that this is a forum. Or maybe people can send emails to FT to let them know how unsatisfied they are with the product. Not much anybody can do right now. If you have the option to return the product to the seller, try it that way. Otherwise, we all just have to live with what we have. It happens, we can just home for the best the next time around... Maybe wait till some pictures / reviews pop up before purchasing the product.

I myself bought the figure. Personally, the colors are not an issue with me. Though, I do understand the frustration that some of our community members have with the figure. I'm more interested with how FT would fix the issue with the breakages. Just my opinion.

I love this thread so, so, so much ... it reminds one of the debates before the Third Ecumenical Council of Ephesus ... except you know, much lower stakes and all :)

This is me. It's blurple for sure, but it doesn't bother me all that much. So long as I never look at the box or instruction pics again to "remember."

I want to see them come up with a fix. I'm sure lots of people never broke Soar's leg/talon/things, and they still made the die cast ones. And I didn't care that sever's dino mode had a hollow under side behind the head. But when the new cover pieces came with Stomp, it was awesome.

There's some real noise about this bad panel design, even if there's an overly-careful way to avoid breakage. I want to see what comes of it; to see if they're willing to step up even if they don't have to.

You know, there are times when the complaints about a toy feel excessive to me. This may be one of those times but I just can't get over how easily this could all have been avoided if FT just a) released photos ahead of time with the final colors (though that might have been problematic given how poorly this color photographs) or b) just use the colors they had previously shown.

But I digress. There are times I find complaints about a figure excessive but the hypocritical complaints about complaints always get to me. "I don't share your concern so you should shut up and join the rest of us in praising the figure or go away." If people want to "belly ache," what's it to you? Besides, there's the whole squeaky wheel thing to consider. Maybe, just maybe, @dalianjj sees the hubbub and decides to show final product shots before release for future figures and we don't have this problem again.

Same here. I can live with color, but would really like to see the breakage issue addressed.

FT has made a CONSCIOUS CHOICE to keep things a bit TOO under wraps. This isn't the first or even the second toy they released to have 'off' colors or design issues that they conspicuously didn't circulate any kinds of pre-production pictures or samples of. What reason do you have to think they'll change? ALL their figures sell out pretty much IMMEDIATELY and even the ones that take a while to sell out still end up becoming ridiculous on the secondary market.

Griping doesn't mean shit to a businessperson unless it affects their bottom line. Our griping hasn't changed our purchasing habits... if anything, in spite of their increased secrecy, knowing that everything they put out WILL sell out sooner than later has gotten us MORE committed to pre-ordering, with the foreknowledge that 1) if you miss this figure within the first 2 weeks, odds are you'll end up playing significantly more later, and 2) even if you don't like what you pre-order, you're pretty much guaranteed to at least be able to recoup your cost and probably make a profit if you sell it off.

FT at this point has an established track record of 1) design issues that lead to breakages or paint chips, 2) unnecessarily unfun transformations, and 3) slightly off colors -- so close to what they're supposed to be that the deviation actually pisses you off more. (Nobody questions that Jabber is WAY more accurately deco'ed than Buzzing, but somehow Buzzing didn't get nearly this much flak for its color deviations) If they reissue this in the deco buyers expected in the first place, that would be the FOURTH figure they've done that with.

TL;DR: FT is protecting their brand. Right now people buy everything they drop by default, so circulating pre-production copies or pics won't really generate additional sales; they'd just give people potential reasons to NOT buy them at this point. So I get it.

Just in case anyone else experienced it, I contacted Fanstoys about the ankle pin issue and they said "this is a common issue for all ft39, so no replacement part available from factory , sorry"

Here is a pic of what I am talking about Jabber2.jpg Jabber1.jpg

I'm not sure what you're getting at. All this does is validate everything we've been saying. It's purple.

    Makes too much sense really.

You want to change someone? Hit his bottom line. Proven historically.

But you know, consumers have to consume + FOMO.

Predicted behavior: COMPLAIN ABOUT FT LIKE CRAZY ... quietly buys every single product.
