I think the proportions have changed from cartoon accurate (which Siege got away with by treating the vehicle mode as an afterthought) to something closer to G1 Marvel comic, in large part due to the different hips/legs and the larger chest windows that accommodate a Matrix and look like a real truck. He also has a narrower chin and eyes which gives him a more “sinister” Batman look as opposed to Siege’s Sunbow John Wayne look. I’d venture the heads swap. Colors look to be a VERY close match for the regular Siege figure aside from the blue metallic paint on the helmet and hands.

 

He is definitely looking very clean, loving the blue hands... but, if he is a bit taller than Siege then to me his scaling with Siege Megatron is going to be a hair off, which is kind of annoying for my own personal collection, still looks great though, and I'd love to see what Earthrise does with a Megatron, if at all

 

Yeah... the short torso is what turns me off. They merged the top of his legs with his lower abdomen like the Bumblebee studio series prime. This makes for the strange proportions. You can see it clearly in the comparison pic with Siege Prime. Will have e to wait to see it in person though.

I concur, to me it feels like the torso appears shorter on ER

 

This does have the functional affect however, of increasing the range of motion for the hips since the waist plate isn't blocking the hips from moving forward any longer. Itching to see if the hips can move forward beyond 90 degrees.

 

Optimus with pulled up pants    I love him with blue eyes and hands and I hope they'll keep them and the butt-wheels look more decent than I was expecting.
Positively surprised with this one.  

 

Now that looks a lot better.

Though I do like the proportions on Siege more.

Those grey hands in the takara pics are gorgeous! If I got ER Prime I would have to paint his hands grey or try to strip the blue off.

I still really love my Siege Prime so I'm probably going to skip the Earthrise one. I was going to skip Hoist and Grapple and just wait for Trailbreaker and Inferno, but I'm really starting to like Hoist. He could team up with Siege Ratchet and CW First Aid as the Autobot medical team. Plus if you get Grapple then you have both of the main characters for the iconic G1 episode "The Master Builders". Man I really need to stop coming up with justifications to get these figures.

 

Because it looks better. Blue hands look doofy like a clown now that enough primes have shown grey hands. I don't want my Optimus to look comical.
