Okay, this sounds to me like we are getting some new artwork reprints of the Super Rare cards from Wave 1 and the SDCC2018 characters

Still no idea how WotC will release those - so far I guess as a special pack? - but let me just say one thing - Thank you, Wizards!

 

I'm going to be hyped if they reprint the 2018 SDCC cards. Reprinting cards from wave 1 when that set is still in print and readily and easily available? Makes little sense to me.

 

It's just pure speculation on my part - I think it is pretty save to say that there are reprints coming out.

I think this whole list of reveals is just wonderful! I truly believe Wizards is trying to make up for some of the, let's say, unfortunate decisions they made at the start of the game:
- A reprint of SR Nemesis Prime and Bumblebee - the chances of getting a SR CC in a display were pretty low in Wave 1, they increased the chances since Wave 2
- A reprint of SDCC Cliffjumper and Slipstream - again

As for the Optimus Prime and Megatron teasers - I guess those will be their Wave 1 Rare counterparts? Wave 1 Optimus is still a popular card, dunno about Megatron though (but he is a favourite of mine).

I just hope I simply have to buy one pack to get all six of them at once. Looking at this picture again, the booster pack looks a lot thicker then your standard booster pack:

What do you guys think of this and hope to potentially see in this pack?

 

No one knows what it exactly it is yet. We're all guessing it's going to be a reprints of certain cards, but it's all hints and speculations currently.

 

I'll wait till actual releases ...

 

They've confirmed that it's not a convention exclusive. So there's at least that.

 

I could see it being the Siege 2 set similar to the previous starter sets we have gotten

 

Only cards that I would hope to be reprinted would be the high value cards like Energon Axe, Peace Through Tyranny, I Still Function, Start Your Engines, etc.

 

See this make absolutely no sense to me. Why reprint cards that are still in print and from a set that is still easily obtainable?

2018 SDCC cards? I totally understand. Heck, even Wave 1 SRs are starting to make a little sense seeing how absurd their pull rates are. But W1 battle card rares? Nay. One can still easily find a box of Wave 1 for under $83 with little effort.

 

Same. Is it normal for WOTC to reprint cards after only a year in production and still accessible?
