As of yesterday the big 35th ann display was up and well stocked at North Olmsted Walmart. Its really hidden though on one of the endcaps along the wall.
Well I have been using the utility to search all of the Walgreens in the surrounding area (and there are quite a few which is fortunate) for Ratchet and I have yet to have any luck. However, thank you to whichever one of you fellas posted the fact that I could just order Ratchet online and have it delivered. As much as I've always enjoyed finding a toy or figure or what not out in the wild during a search... I'm not near as physically able to search like I once preferred to do so... Ratchet is on the way which I'm very excited about. I'm also going to be on the look out for both a Thundercracker AND Bluestreak over this coming weekend. I HOPE that I can locate a Bluestreak with all of the new 35th anniversary displays going up. Does the 35th Bluestreak look the same as the regular release of Bluestreak? I hope that he does. I noticed on the Target website that there's a really cool looking proto jet called Redwing that I ordered too. I never had seen it before but he looks sharp so I ordered him. Last but not least; I sold some older stuff that I was no longer interested in or planning on display to get me enough fundage to order the MAN, the MYTH, the LEGENDBOT.... OMEGA SUPREME! Even though I promised myself when I started collecting Transformers again that I would limit the size of the bots to under 10 inches high or so... when I saw the images for the new Omega Supreme.... i could not help myself... so damned awesome looking. Of course, if I have an Omega Supreme then that means that I MUST also have a Devastator as well. I just need to decide WHICH version of Devastator to pick up....so that it compares favorably with Omega.
The 35th display was in Streetsboro Walmart but it was in the front of the store in their holiday section. I also went to Wal-Mart in Stow, and theirs was on a toy end cap in the department.
Well I managed to pick up a Bluestreak, Red Alert and Thundercracker at the Wooster Walmart last night. Bluestreak and Red Alert were both a couple dollars cheaper than normal price which was sweet. Of course, now that I have received my monthly disability check and have the funds to order a Ratchet (which I was REALLY excited to finally be able to add to my collection) online at the Walgreens site there appears to be none left...because they're all on Ebay priced at at least double the normal purchase price. Sigh. i've been playing this "game" for decades now. Back when I was healthy and was able to drive i really sort of enjoyed the thrill of the hunt. i also know and understand how the toy scalping system works online... but I hate it... and I absolutely refuse to participate at those prices. So... i guess I'll keep looking the one or two days out of the month that I actually have a ride to the local Walgreens. Having certain toys or figures or what not being exclusive to a certain chain of stores or a website online makes for a rather difficult time for collectors who are either completists (which i have been known to be with certain toy lines) or like to collect every version of a certain character. Of course, I fully believe that the toy companies are well aware of these issues but they're all big international or even global companies so all they care about is the bottom line... which is sales. Meh. Anyways, I'm still on the look out for Ratchet but I am pleased with the fact that I managed to get 3 out of the 5 bots that I HOPED I'd be able to get this month. Not bad.
Indeed I am fine with paying dhipping. good sir and even if you don't find one I truly appreciate the sentiment. What I'm not okay with is seeing so many auctions in the $40 range and then adding another $8 or $10 shipping as well. But, like I mentioned above... I can comprehend the scalper's mentality. I just don't adhere to it not support/enable it.
Target in Fields Ertel has nothing new since last week. Nothing except Chromia, the Decepticon voyagers, and Shockwave. Tri-County Mall Target has nothing new either as of two hours ago. Except for this: And so they strike again. I shook the box a few times, and I didn’t see the head in there. Looks like the plastic ties were tampered with as well.
That TLK Nitro has been at Tri-County Target for weeks and weeks. I’ve mentioned it to a clerk before who seemed intent on marking it as defective and ensuring it was not returned to the shelf. Lol. That store is terrible about toy swaps. I see at least 10 per year at that location.
Yeah, I think I recall reading a few of the stories - SS Ratchet, etc. I’m surprised they don’t get people’s phone numbers and names - if someone keeps returning things that are reported as being defective, that’s a problem the store needs to address.
Finally found Ratchet, this was at Walgreens in Westlake, OH. They had 4, now 3 Ratchets in stock and a Sideswipe as well. For those around Cleveland, I can confirm that Rocky River and North Olmstead Walgreens do not have Ratchet.
Absolutely nothing new @ Oregon Walmart; didn't see the 35th figures unless they aren't in toy dept, not by Christmas stuff either.
From the last 24 hours: Walmart on Colerain near 275: 35th Anniversary Display in the seasonal section (front right section of the store, in an aisle. Had about a full display set. All the 35th Optimus Prime's had some... iffy paint. Walmart on College Corner in Oxford: 35th Anniversary Display is across from the toy section. Has been picked through a bit, has some of everything still. 4 Bluestreak and 5-6 Soundblaster. Got a good paint Optimus there. They all have better paint than the ones in Colerain. Employee was putting out SS deluxes when I got there, seemed to be Hightower/Dropkick/Drift wave. Seems the abdominal area of Prime and the faceplate are the places the paint is struggling the most, but ESPECIALLY the abdominal area. Lots of paint imperfections on them so far. Megatron seems much better, but i'd avoid ordering a prime from the site if you can avoid it, that and they delayed prime/megs to "releasing" on the 15th.
The displayer looks so much better than randomly thrown on a shelf. At least the Colerain Walmart broke the display apart to put on their shelves.
I know this is probably super early but if anyone comes across the Wave 4 botbots at a Target please let me know!
Just some speculation because I got to work early: Expect Spinister/Crosshairs/Apeface to show up next month. I know some retailers show 12/1 as the date, but I doubt it. I just remember Siege was supposed to be released in January/February, but we saw wave 1 of everything before Christmas, with the leaders on 12/23. I expect small numbers to be in stores at least before Christmas, with Amazon not being a factor, as they have everything listed for a January launch.
I think that Hasbro Pulse will ship Apeface/Crosshairs/Spinister out before Dec 6 but the Battlemasters/Micromasters will hit at the end of this month since we are already seeing some retailers and comic book shops receive them
I don't think pulse will make the 6th, but i'd guess around the 14th, yes. Just going off siege last year.
I checked Colerain THREE TIMES last week, and no dice. Figures. Payday is Friday, but 3 will get you 10 they'll be gone.
