it just occurred to me that at this sale price, this and reissue road king are identical in terms of cost, and gabriel is still the more massive and larger bot than the combiner which road king is the primary piece of. goodness.

Gabriel is the much better buy.

Seriously still one of my top figures and I had to fix a few bits. If I could get a second at this price to repaint into Guardian I'd do it in a heartbeat. Ft20g would then become a headless dark Guardian.

They are both engineering marvels. Gabriel is technically more for the buck but Roadking is right up there with FT’s best, and has some of the most impressive engineering I’ve ever seen.

As much as I'm bummed out you guys are getting around a 30% discount, glad you guys are buying this. I've had one when it first came out after waiting years for this. Gabriel is one of the best Transformers I've had. No problems at all. Even at normal price, Gabriel was a good buy with his transformation and quality. Make sure you get the Jream chest insignia though. It really completes it.

Gabriel and Terminus Giganticus are my main reason for wishing people less blindly supported companies versus individual products. Having both products I can unequivocally say that Gabriel is superior in just about every way, but FT's offering seems to be much more popular simply because it's made by FT. The reason this bothers me, is that we've seen DX9 slow their output down considerably since Gabriel (and they haven't even released their Gabriel repaint), which I hope isn't a sign that slow Gabriel sales hurt them financially.

Yeah? I don't have Gabriel yet and I don't have TG so I can't really say one way or the other but I'm curious why you think Gabriel is superior in every way. I have plenty of complaints about FT but in my experience they have material, paint, and build quality that nobody else matches. If they'd ever figure out how to do fun transformations, they'd be just about perfect. On the other hand, I don't own any DX9 figures (just the AoD Powerglide but, as it's a knockoff, I doubt it accurately reflects DX9's quality) so I don't know how their material and build stack up but I know that none of the figures I own from other 3Ps are built as well as FT's.

From the reviews, I have to say that I like Gabriel's transformation a lot better. He still partsforms (it's Omega - he can't be done without partsforming) but it's much less than TG. Overall looks wise I prefer Gabriel but it's by a narrow margin and I still like the chest detailing and the face sculpt on TG better.

So yeah, not saying you're wrong but I'd like some elaboration if that's alright.

Sure! I liked Terminus when I first got him, but was constantly irritated by the backpack unpegging and the legs being too wobbly (even when I tightened everything up). His transformation is a bear and very utilitarian - it just gets you from point a to point b with no part of it really being fun. Also, having to pull apart pieces of his rocket to turn the lights on and off makes him feel more like a custom than a professional figure.

It took me a lot of back and forth given the QC issues with the initial batch, but I finally went for Gabriel after Eddie at ToyDojo offered to inspect all his orders before sending them out. I DID have to work on Gabriel a bit to lube up his arm ratchets, but after I did so he is, IMO, utterly perfect in both looks and especially in build quality. His "all in one" leg transformation is way more refined and smoother than Terminus. His rocket lights are activated by buttons. He is more toon accurate in robot mode, but not in a derpy kinda way, making him fit really well with the current set of MPs. He has neat little touches like the control screen behind his face for alt mode.

The only things I feel the FT offering has on him are the light up eyes, and the fact that Gabriel has a couple of small cost cutting measures, with rocket parts, shoulder parts, and the details on his yellow "pec pad" looking things being the same mold versus mirrored pieces.

    ^^^yeah, what he said.

i would have definitely gone with FT omega had i not had time to mess with the DX9 sample. his fit and finish just blew me away. everything that was big and wobbly about terminus was not present with gabriel. there isnt even a small hint of that with the dx9 bot.

then you toss in the transformation being much more fun and it is a no brainer if you ask me.

Gabriel was on my bucket list as my Omega Supreme of choice. Just hadn't prioritized it just yet, but this kind of forced my hand. :)

You both would be fools if you passed with this price.

When he arrives and you unbox him, you will see.
