What can I say other than that holy shit he looks amazing! Though he looks kinda small... or is it just the fact he isn't standing next to anyone side by side?

But he's not at his proper height because of Overload not being combined with them.

Great find on these pics, really excited for the sisters and my biggest fear is they’ll be too big to properly scale in my collection.

 

Same here, I am so hoping the bikes will be in scale in vehicle mode.. I looked their original bikes up so I have the proper paintschemes at hand.. I would love the sisters in (vehicle)scale.

Is MPM Ironhide worth the price with a 65% discount even if I don't intend to get the upgrade kit for now?

 

If you ever plan on getting the upgrade kit at some point, then I would say yes.
I would also say yes if you plan on using him primarily as a display piece. Without the upgrade kit, he doesn’t have much play value in bot mode due to his shoulders popping loose whenever you move his arms. I have the upgrade kit and his shoulders are rock solid now. Great looking MPM in any case.

In seeing all of the mistransformed Devastator pictures it makes me wonder if the people who have these early samples just don't have instructions yet.

While I agree that the components look silly when not transformed properly I won't entirely blame them when they might be doing all of this by guess work since they have no instructions and no real photos of what the completed Devastator should look like.

Even if they do have instructions, we all know how awful they are at actually conveying what's happening in the transformation.

Yes he looks amazing even without the add on kit. If you want an extremely movie accurate Ironhide get him. The add on kit will mostly help with posing and have some more weaponry but not necessary if you’re just going to look and admire what a beaut it is.
