I hope they do other BAF like that. It would be a great way to give people that missed them the first time. Id love a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants with the BLOB BAF, Pyro, Avalanche, and Toad. X-man, Sunfire, Morph, Weapon-X, and Wildchild. That leaves the last figure and the BAF. With Wildchild coming and Blink already out, maybe AoA Sabertooth maybe? The BAF should either by AoA Apocalypse, Holocaust, or Sugarman. I hope this wave is popular enough for them to make another. Comic Winter Soldier and Comic Crossbones, I wonder if a Captain America wave is coming? A lot of possibilities for new figures. Red Skull, Falcon, U.S. Agent, a new Serpent Society figure.
Someone in here was just asking for a Crossbones a couple weeks ago, so he'll be happy. That sunfire isn't as cool looking as I was picturing. And zero interest in wildchild (though he looks great, TBH). So far that line's a pass for me, except for whoever comes with the Apocalypse Head (if he's even the BAF)
Ugh, I really hope the AoA wave is a one-off. I may be in the minority on this, but AoA just does nothing for me. I'm a huge X-nerd, but that mid-90's era represents a major fall from grace for the franchise from where it had been in the late 80's and early 90's, i.e. before all the good creators left to form Image. I try hard to erase AoA from my brain at every opportunity. I get that there are fans who have the misfortune of discovering the X-Men during this time and recall it fondly, and I don't begrudge those folks some figures. But I fear this wave of lesser-known misfits is going to warm hard, and then some beancounter at hasbro will take that as evidence that X-Men in general don't sell, and we'll be right back to having the mutants on ice and IM/Cap/Thor/BP v37 shoved down our throats.
We did, and you're probably right. On the other hand, it does seem weird to do 'Age of the Apocalypse' without Apocalypse. Especially since that's a different version of the character. Also, did Onslaught have anything to do with Age of the Apocalypse? I thought that was a separate thing. But my memory of that stuff is really fuzzy. I was thinking if the Baf wasn't Apocalypse it would probably be Holocaust. (Or would that name keep him out? Maybe rename him?) Or maybe Dark Beast? But that just seems like it should be a Beast Repaint, not a bigger mold.
love triangle set is $65 shipped on pulse, vs $69 plus tax at game stop. i only really want cyclops hmmmmmm
Your fuzzy memory is correct, Onslaught had nothing to do with AoA. And we already got a Holocaust BAF once, they just called him Nemesis. Sure, it's an older figure, but in a world where we don't have any non-Nightcrawler figures from Alan Davis's Excalibur, do we really need more than one Holocaust BAF? At some point, I'm going to think that Hasbro is just trolling us.
I couldn't get into AOA for a few reasons. - It's an alternate universe/ time travel story - It's not an AU/TT story where the plot is to "change the future," leaving readers adrift in terms of whether it's going to change, how, and when. - Everyone is wearing awful 90s costumes - Everyone is rendered in scratchy 90s lines and that washed out 90s inking style that hilights how shiny and veiny their bodies are - "Written by Scott Lobdell" - Seriously, the costumes are fugly. It's like an entire universe of X-Force costumes but with garish colors.
Weird. They'll probably put it back up closer to the release date they had 12/1? I still have my pre-order for it, says arriving Dec 6-8 for a placeholder.
They also call Holocaust Nemesis. He also appeared in the 616 continuity so that is another reason why he should be the BAF. A second wave could be AoA Cyclops, AoA Magneto, Dark Beast, AoA Rogue, AiA Iceman.
Tell us how you really feel, please. It cant pegwarmer any harder than every single other wave of spiderman, infinity war, x-men, deadpool, etc, etc.
Well X-Man and one-hand Wolverine are locks for the Wave. So that's 4 characters right there. I kind of wonder if they'd do Morph, both to get an original character in there, and to appeal to fans of the cartoon. (Though he gets killed in the first episode, but still) They just did a Magneto recently, so would they do him again so soon? Same with Beast vs Dark beast. Cyclops makes sense. Rogue would make sense, or Jean, just to get a female in there. Maybe Kitty? I'm really surprised they didn't hold Blink back for this wave. Maybe they didn't have plans for the wave when they decided that.
