Man I'm half disappointed/half relieved that the all-red Defensor Hot Spot doesn't have the light grey as his single robot mode chest plate to make him a more ideal candidate for a Hosehead/Cab conversion!

True enough... I prefer the solidity of the CW style figures too.

For me, I don't really get excited for an "homage" to a character when that guy never really felt like much of a character to begin with... but it all depends on when you were collecting. Like, for me, Skyburst just felt like a random jet guy with a generic name slapped on him. But if you had that figure as a kid, the bond would be stronger.

I think the ideal plan is to use the Blue "Blast Off" + the 3 Non-Helicopter Aerialbots to make a set of 4 Jet limbs then you can either use them with the Not-Superion Torso for a More Jet centred look, or you can use them with POTP Starscream as faux mini-"Seekers", I think the Blue one times four would suit Galvatronus well enough but if you don't mind the varied colours. I suppose one could use any team of 4 of the the other colours for a very unified look - or use differing pairs for an Energon Combiner look.

I'm considering a couple of additional Helicopters for Victorion for example. we now have a set of Multi-colour Helicopters available across various releases if you wanted to do that too instead of with jets. If you mix in more Official Products you can also go all Tank, or all car or all Buggy or all Bike too I suppose. As I mentioned before the red Motorcycle is a passable approximation of the Triggerbot Override for example if you wanted to do an all Bike-limb team with WreckGar, Afterburner & Groove as the other limbs.

It's a small shame some of the other moulds have not had KO's as there is endless repaint potential with those a great deal of potential ; either with more made up randoms, or named characters like Slicer, Exhaust, or Cordon, as well as the characters who have appropriate repaints.

I still think it's a shame that there is no Combiner Wars compatible Sideswipe or Hoist though.

The latest which are not CBB are just showing up (Red Defensor) but the other two are confirmed. Wouldn't surprise me if eBay would follow soon but those would be the same sellers on AliE

Similar engineering and base as this excavator bot (has Peter Cullen "Roll out" voice in there) so hopefully the dino isn't too old and can still find.

 

I want to do a 'Cyclonus and his Armada' sort of thing. I was really hoping we'd get CW/POTP Cyclonus/Scourge/Sweep limb-bots but that never happened. Then I thought POTP Starscream might get a Skywarp limb-jet which I might have used, but that didn't happen either (despite certain rumours about a 'Seeker' combiner).

It looks like I'll have to settle for blue KO jet-limbs.
