What's the deal with people leaving the green sticker on their FT Transformers?

 

Everybody's got their favourite QC team member. Personally I only collect the finest FT products from QC 31, so I let that dude's sticker shine with a little bit of humble brag sticker photography.

 

Mine arrived today, glad I managed to find him. The purple doesn't bother me, and he really looks the part. He handily finishes off my G1 movie Autobot cabinet, so I feel like I've closed at least one door. If FT could just go ahead and get Scourge done, that'd finish that trio off as well. It'd be nice to close the door on a few areas so I can just consider it all done and dusted  

 

thats actually the logic test i ran that green lit me on spending 3p money back in the day.

i go spend $150 on dinner its gone... i buy a fantoys figure, thats an asset of some kind.

 

Bah. Having read the various comments about breakages, I was super-careful transforming Jabber, even using tweezers at one point so that nothing got stressed at any point. He transformed for bot to car smoothly. I transformed him back the same way. Verrry verrry careful, nothing being stressed. And yet...



A crack. Maybe simply being in car mode puts too much stress on that bit? Ho hum!

 

The way that he transforms is going to always put a lot of stress on that piece, especially since there is no hinge on it to allow it to move out of the way when attaching the arm nacelle to the rest of the body. Honestly, I don't understand why FT always engineers panels or portions of a vehicle section to split into two different limbs that was clearly meant to be one limb on robot mode. It creates fun little issues like this where you are relying more on the pliability of the plastic to fit this piece over the arm nacelle rather than any interesting engineering. Also, is there any reason this piece is on the leg? The panel barely shows on his legs in robot mode, and it only show on the rear of his shins. I don't know why it wasn't fully incorporated into the arms.

 

I wrote to service@fanstoys to mention the crack, and I asked if there might be plans to produce a metal version like with Soar's knee pieces. They said that the part can't be made by diecast or else the paint would get scratched.

 

I remember that was also the reply when people complained about Soar. Voila, a couple of years later they produced a diecast version.

They should simply say: "we'll look into it".

 

You mean, "don't buy it because we're going to make a better one." Hm, I wonder why they don't say that.

I had to trim off the flask on his neck tab as well as in the hole the tab goes into in order to get the head to go in.

I posted several pics with the clear chest a while back. It's just that very few people are using it. No accounting for taste, eh?  

 

Mmt copy just shipped from TFS Express in China... should be her on Monday. Looking forward to getting him in hand... but not transforming him... like never.
