Nothing popping up yet at A3&Up or Dojo...I’m trying to remember from past years...how long after the con were the exclusives put up? (...provided they even get any) 

 

It might be worth it to shoot them an email and ask. The few times I've emailed Toy Dojo, they got back to me within the day.

Hoping you hear something good back! There's nothing worse than missing something by literally minutes.

 

Usually a couple days after PSX puts up their orders, presumably because it takes A3U or Toy Dojo awhile to get back from the con and inventory/catalog.

Though this year, PSX put orders up right away after the figures sold out at the con, instead of waiting a couple days.

 

Folks, they do have to travel back to Wherever, Canada. Give them a minute or two.

I went to the con with plans to get this   
G2 Sphinx/mirage... ended up leaving with both exclusives and the original release with parachute courtesy of someone selling it via the ‘bulletin board’ for $50. Now I have the 1st, 3rd and 4th from both the top and bottom rows.

...oh, and also came upon someone selling the siege 3-pack deluxe set individually, whom by the time I saw it, only had the box and one figure remaining who was, you guessed it, the  translucent mirage  ...so I went ahead and got that for $25.

Oh TFcon, how is it you provide solutions to first world problems, while also serving as the kindling for additional first world problems?

What's the story behind the Black/Gold version of Sphinx? Are the colors based on the beast machines Mirage, or Energon Mirage?

 

I think they just made a cool looking Mirage that looked like a depiction of a sphinx.

 

He's just a literal expression of his name and Mirages head design built off the boss asking me to come up with a black color scheme variation. Rather than do the usual thing I thought making him look like an Egyption artifact would be quite suitable to the figure. No intention of referring to anything specific beyond that, just hey black gold m blue looks nice I'ma do that.

This is also why I had the logos, text n numbers removed.

 

And I love you for it. It's hard to tell from the pictures but do the faceplates have black eyeliner? It looks like it in some pictures and I am all for it.

 

It truly is the most beautiful deco I've seen on a figure

 

@Deceptimatrix Man, that G2 Sideswipe is exactly what you’d get if Rob Liefeld had gone into designing Transformers instead of drawing comics. 90’s to the MAXX!  

 

Yeah that kit is pretty spot on. I still need to go back and add the neon green stickers once I find the damn box.
