For mine, it came that way when I took it out of the box and the panels are much more secure when I move his arms around, so I don't have to readjust them every time I move them. And my backpack can't stay pegged in if I don't put the panels behind his back.

On a few added notes after having him in hand for a few days:

    - I find that mine does not have those weird untabbing feet. I have a suspicion that they only become untabbed and loose when people tilt the feet up. They're not designed to tilt up because there are rectangular pieces sticking out stopping that.
    - For the grill issue, I pretty much solved it by putting in the grill and windows in place last. I don't know whether if it works just on mine or if it works universally.

Overall, it's a pretty great piece. I'm debating whether I like it more than Siege Prime or the other way around. It's spectacular, but I can't wait to modify his thighs, shins, and feet.

It does indeed help with articulation. I'll see if I can get it to lock.

I just bit the bullet and ordered this on Walmart.com. Haven't seen it in person yet, but all the pictures are really impressive.

Problem is when the feet are properly tabbed in, the fig leans back ever so slightly and it doesn't look natural

I shaved a little off the top of the ankle joint instead of cutting off an entire tab. A little less invasive and as far as I can tell accomplishes the same thing. IMG_20190809_173943.jpg

That works, personally I left the tabs and just let them float behind the panel they're supposed to tab into

in retrospect, while I picked up SS-38 (and think it’s great)I don't feel he was good enough to dethrone Siege Optimus. Now Earthrise Optimus, I guess we will see see enough.

oh I can definitely see the decision to decide on Studio Series, but I feel it is largely a matter of taste, because they are both great quality figures.

Random thought: what if we got Studios Series-esque lines for other aspects of Transformers like Beast Wars, Animated or Prime?

Animated and Prime don't need it. The original figures are already good and quite accurate to their on-screen portrayals, and Beast Wars has already gotten CHUG and MP updates. Movieverse needed it because about 80% of the figures we got were inaccurate and based on concept art that was outdated. Almost none of the bots survived long enough to warrant updated and accurate figures, and they never had the CGI CAD files to work from until 2016. So they badly needed updates.

It would be cool as hell to get Beast Wars figures with real world animal alt modes. Like don't get me wrong, beast wars was my childhood, and I love the animation models, but man it would be cool to see an Optimus primal that transforms into a real world looking gorrilla.

Gotta wait for that live-action Beast Wars movie that they'd better make eventually or else I'll be sad.

When I did find one, he was returned the next day.

His arm wouldn't stay on at all, it would just fall off... then his legs wouldn't peg it very well, the back of cab was also curved. It was just horrible how bad the quality on it was.

On return they had another but just didn't want to bother after that.

He does look great, but in the end. I just found Siege more to my liking....

And now you can get KOs that are 1/2 (or less) in price and look just fine quality wise, so I might consider it ... maybe.
