One of the reasons why this is such a fascinating project. We should all be applauding FT for the audacity to service such a potentially tiny market with an awesome toy.

I'm not going to, I'm going to cynically mock them for their stupidity. The reason no one's tried this is because it's dumb.

There are people that want this but don't have the room or spare income for it, and so they want it smaller and more affordable. It would definitely make sense to down size to make this a more affordable piece that can fit into the average consumers house. But in doing so they shrink the size of cerebros and head master, unless they have a super deformed style with an extra head that is more in proportion with the body. But like what was discussed earlier in the thread they might be doing this as a build a figure to make shipping and price easier for people to manage rather then a lump sum. If they were paying attention to the haslab unicron they will have seen how for many people it was alot to ask for that much in one purchase. Time was also a factor making it a harder scenario for more of the fan base.

A little surprised that dalainjj hasn't been on to give specs.

Side note: Before this was shown I was hoping a KO company would oversize the TR Titans, I would have bought those. There is probably a market for those if a company like Lewin resources takes the gamble. I was very tempted to buy the Haslab Unicron but it would look odd to me only being slightly taller then MP Omega supreme.

 

The fact that a toy you have no interest in is generating such a negative emotion from you reflects more about you than the toy. It’s an inanimate object meant to elicit an emotion from those who find it appealing. There is nothing about it that should cause someone not interested in it to have such negative feelings towards it. But “I don’t want it” doesn’t equate to it being a stupid idea aimed at someone else who isn’t you.

I have no need for tampons but I’d be fool to scream they are stupid just because they don’t appeal to me.

Anyone can tell that a four foot tall probably $1400 transformer is a ludicrous concept that's practically suicidal for an independent company. if they can't see it that's on them and is well-deserving of mockery.

No need to spend $$$ on additional 3P upgrade kits (DNA accessory kits and Heisenberg accessories) like many who bought HasTak's TR Fort Max were forced to do in order to have a somewhat complete Fort Max. And I do mean somewhat because there's STILL no option for Cog for TR Fort Max.

 

What do you mean? There's Siege Cog. No, Siege Cog doesn't really do anything with Fortress Maximus, but I don't recall G1 Cog really doing anything, either.

 

Its 45 inches, live with it. The other 4 will likely be the same size. FT is not just throwing something against the wall to see if it will stick. They have tested this. They are not stupid and the size and design is not an accident. At some point you have to give some credit to the engineers that design these.

 

I would definitely transform him.

If I could afford it I would make space for it, probably keep it in base mode with other MP on display with it. For my own collection though I'd of preferred metroplex and tripticon (maybe some day) this fort max design is more the anime than the rebirth cartoon isn't it ?prefer rebirth cerebros design myself, guess I'm just a sucker for the G1 nostalgia lol

 

Telling people to "deal with it" generally makes some of them want to tell you to go screw yourself. Just a heads up in case you're unaware of how discourse tends to go. We don't know for sure it's 45 inches, yet, so maybe relax instead of trying to instigate forum friction by bringing direct antagonism toward another poster into the conversation.

 

But Labcron is a few inches taller than a Titan class  
I agree with you--a high end city/planet bot should be massive which is why Labcron never appealed to me. If you put a few Titan class figures in front of Labcron the majority of the figure would be hidden. This thing is not gonna suffer from that problem.
As far as price I'm hoping its in the $800-900 range which I would be fine with.

This Fort Max is absolutely glorious.

Any talk of downsizing is idiotic. If you don't like it, then go buy some cheap Hasbro crap.
