Agreed, I just think the vans are so far down the redo totem pole it will be a while before we see 2.0s. You could probably make some kind of case for all the 20's getting redos at some point. They're stuck in a bad spot where they're not totally outdated like earlier molds, but theres a steep difference between them and Inferno onward.

Nope!   I think it ends on the 4th of November though. So maybe there is still time for something.

 

A v2 Grimlick with a yellow (not gold chrome) chest... That would be pure nostalgia for me. I've never known what Grimlocks popularity is amongst the Takara/Japanese audience, but he's the only figure from the first era of Masterpiece figures that never received a v2 and I've always assumed it would happen eventually (I'm counting MP-9 Rodimus as part of the second era because MP-10 was scaled to him).

MP-8 was great and his waiter mode is still the only transformer that my (now ex) fiance would ever accept on open display due to it being so fun, but surely he's A-list enough to get a v2 eventually. Ideally about a head or two taller than MP-44 (then give us an Ultra Magnus v3 at that height).

No problem! I too wish the news was different but alas...
We have to be in for something though kinda soon. Prime was released in August, Bumblebee and Blackarachnia are coming next month, Hound is December and Lio convoy is January. No way we won't at least know who MP49 is by the end of the year. Not to forget that the Generations book should hit around December as well, and the past few years they have always had something MP related.

 

I feel that we are overdue for a Decepticon. I’m hoping for a character that hasn’t been done yet but my gut tells me it will be a new Starscream.

It would be awesome if it was a double reveal and we got a re-do and a new character. Like Starscream and Galvatron.

I’m dying for some Constructicons or triple changers.

 

You and me both! The last new mold Decepticon we got was Megatron. Takara needs to hook us up with at least Blitzwing......maybe an Astrotrain too!

Well, it's likely we will see a new MP reveal, but I think won't be a G1 (yeah, I repeat again, MP Raiden)

Who knows, sometimes the Generations book comes with hints of future masterpieces (Hound, for example)

 

When do the generation books usually get announced? I haven't seen the 2020 issue up for preorder anywhere yet.

I'm still holding out hope we'll see something in the next Figure King or at Tokyo Comic Con.

 

The last Generations book was kind of a bust just MP-44 and POTP. With most of the releases being out by December I'm expecting what we have gotten previously what ever the next new mold will be will be a big one who will be the focus of the magazine unless a couple are revealed next month. Bolds well for a big name like Starscream or Galvatron.

 

Blackarachnia is a Predacon. That might be good enough for them.

 

I know numbering hasn't been really important in the past to Takara, but we are at 50's doorstep. If 49 is not a G1 I am pretty sure 50 will be. I don't know all that much about Raiden possibly being introduced as a MP, I personally think that it will be a Select figure along the lines of the Seacons. If that is true though it will be the first combiner, I wish I knew or had handled the original G1 figures to know how they transformed. They were kinda expensive and I was limiting my Japanese exclusives to Decepticons. I'm gonna take a guess and say he would be introduced as a complete set.

Those books come out with a very short amount of time in-between announcement and release. Should be next month sometime.

 

Guess we keep our fingers 49 is Cliffjumper and we still get atleast 3 new molds in 2020, they could probably squeeze 4 if they avoid a $200+ character, but I think Starscream is going to happen next year. I get a feeling they'll have a Decepticon in 2020 redo or new mold.

 

Personally I'd like for them to keep up the pace that they showed in the 2nd half of 2019. Starscream is a much needed redo, but I would still love to see one of the Triplechangers or Galvatron. Galvatron has been rumored since the old MP Speculation thread, and that died awhile ago LOL. It would be nice for an insider to drop some info!

 

It's going to be funny if a bunch of us start thinking MP-50 will mean something because of the significance of the number, and then it ends up like, Detritus or Glyph or something else random and inexplicable.
