Am already pretty content with 3p Gundog, but jeep mode is too big. The way MP Hound goes from small jeep to large robit is more impressive.

Seeing how they fudged Hound license some, I'm guessing it was some hoops to jump through, I wonder if we'll see the same for Mirage, since he seems to be another questionable license. He and Hound had been rumored since the 20's it would be cool if they worked some similar magic to finally get him done.

 

I wonder if it's Ligier is the main stumbling block?

In as much as I love rubber tires from my G1 figs/Diaclone analogs, they rot (My G1 Shockwave always needs constant application of Armor on).

My MP-10, 1st release though not rotted straight from box was twisted out of shape. But then again, who would expect us to keep our toys after 35 years?

Also, in the last 3 years, the retail price of Masterpiece Carbots has more than doubled. Takara is practically asking for a more affordable knockoff to weasel its way onto the market.

It’s a Takara MP thread, my best recommendation is one of three things, either lurk, not give a shit (like me), or master political speech. Here you have to be careful to not offend anyone with the slightest negative idea but also still get a point across.

 

I’m not on the Mystic Fortune gang squad, but I’d just like to throw in that they probably cost more cause people keep buying KOs. So, you know, that might be why.

 

I’m not convinced he is that mis-transformed really but a fractional gap doesn’t really bother me all that much. Especially not when everything else looks so delightful and pops! as it does.

You’re not being attacked, your garbage opinions are. There is a difference. You can either suck it up and let it go, or you can keep on complaining about it for another half dozen pages but that’s just going to harden people against you further.

 

It's a bit weird looking. They've been doing this protruding upper-lip thing of late that I've not seen in person yet but it's off-putting to me. Both MP-19+ Smokescreen and MP-25 Bumblebee appear to have it. Thus far I'm not a fan... it looks cartoonish, which I guess shouldn't surprise me.

Talking of all things toon, I'd have preferred (as always) a more half and half deco rather than ultra toon and a possible toy deco plus version. The off-white isn't as offensive to my eyes as MP-44's bright white pants but I'd have preferred silver, it is quite disappointing there's not a drop of chrome on him. Thankfully the neck look's much better connected in these photos so that is encouraging.

It's funny I forget about this guy for a bit, then some new photos appear and I'm surprised how much I like the mould, and then I start to slowly spot/remember what put me off in the first place. I honestly think with a different deco and a marginally lower price I'd be all over this one.

 

You're perfectly entitled to your opinion and have every right to state it. Just like you have every right to sign up to a Rolex, or LV bags, or iPhone, or whatever, forum and tell everyone how you like the design but find it overpriced and will buy a knock off instead. Just don't expect such a sentiment to be very warmly received!  

 

I do think the face is a bit strange. But only the open mouth one. I think the normal face is pretty good. If they do make a toy one I think it’ll work better with bigger eyes.

What's not show accurate about the feet? Aside from them being (thankfully) a little more detailed?

 

If anything KOs should drive the price down, so TT can compete with them. Higher prices will just drive people to get the KO. If the price was lower and only a slightly higher then what a KO goes for people would likely pay the little extra to get the official. I blame Bandai and how much they charge for stuff. TT was probably looking at them and said they want some of that cheddar also.

 

Look I don’t think that’s the exact reason. Takara’s paint and total parts count has gradually increased to a much larger standard. That is most definitely a reason as to why they cost more.
