Here’s hoping we get a version of this in blue/grey for a Spinner from Blade Runner homage, maybe with a new head.

I’ve never read IDW, so I dont know anything about this version of Chromedome. Im intrigued by the sculpt tho.

Hopefully a cool repaint will peak my interest enough to purchase.

It looks like a pretty cool figure.

Eeeeeeeeh! Hand holding accessory! So cute. What’s the alternate head about?
Never seen Blade Runner, I assume it’s a similar car?

He can hold hands with Rewind. I’m dead :D

A pair of fixed open hands with needles would be great too, but as the latter would have to be metal not to break it would probably be too dangerous. So, open hands sans needles, and those with 0 safety concerns (me) could install their own.

Yeah similar enough for a repaint imo, the front wheels stick out, though not as far as this mold. Seeing as MMC made a repaint of their Mirage based entirely on its 3rd party name and a repaint of their Arcee based on prototype colours, I’d be surprised if it didn’t happen.

Hmm good point. I guess it’d have to be metal. Or a harder plastic? They’re super thing though.
Oh yeah they love their redecos. And I just looked up that car, I think that could be a good choice.

That headset head has a bit more of the personality I expected from the standard one. Hoping @RVDA can pull through and get a revised head looked at! :D

Don’t think plastic would work, unless it was soft and rubbery to avoid breakage which is just disturbing somehow.

Some sort of DIY with thin metal rods is probably the best. The bumps on the base are hard to replicate this way, but you could use short needles to have them partially extended..or to pose him with Overlord.

Yeah, that head is just way too skinny, and the neck/collar area is too thin as well. Hope they can do something about that.

    DIY could work potentially.

The problem with needle hands is that this:

is not going to happen. Ever. It's impossible. So instead we have to find a way to fake it, and that's been the challenge. Plastic has to be, at minimum, around 1.5mm thick. That is a significant problem when you have to make long, thin needles, and it doesn't help that the fingers themselves are only a little wider than that. Not to mention that we also have to find a way to avoid having them just break immediately, because something that thin is guaranteed to sooner rather than later.

We'll find something, but don't expect them to look exactly like the comics. This is just where physical limitations kick in.

Perhaps you could go the classic Kenner Lightsaber route and have them slide out? upload_2019-10-28_22-18-15.jpeg

I'd be happy with hands that are posed like the needles are already sunk into somebody. I don't need to see the actual needles as long as the hands convey some sort of dynamic expression.

Or just tiny little tips like they are starting to extend. Iron Factory managed to put tiny little spikes in Vos' mask.

Needles in the hands doesn’t seem like a worthwhile endeavor, especially if it delayed getting the figure done.

But it’s such an iconic part of the comic and his character. I don’t think it’s that simple to ignore.

That’s fair, but I think it’s more important his head and collar be accurate and recognizable to the source material.
