Astrotrain is another great example on how panellining can improve a detailed figure. Like Blitzwing, all the triple-changers from the Titans Return line are awesome molds to experiment with that. Other changes that I made: - tiny holes, that i drilled in the barrels of his arm-cannons. You can see them very clearly in the spaceship- and trainmode. - painted all the windows in a glossy yellow, to make them stick out more. - a touch of silver and red here and there, so he is more interesting to look at. I'm not interested in the mold but damn! Adding the panel lining really makes it pop! And it looks fantastic for the alt modes. Great work!
Totally agree I've just gone over some really dull ko dx9 constructicons and the difference it makes...
TR Astrotrain was such a weird figure. The train mode looked like a spaceship, the spaceship mode looked like it was stomped on. Your work helps this toy so much, showing off a lot of the detailing and actually makes him make a lot more sense visually. Great work!
That's true. I think the Titans Return Astrotrain would fit better into the Siege toyline, since his Alt-modes seem so futuristic and cybertronian.
Honestly, it was only when I saw your custom did I realize exactly how that is supposed to be a train mode. Before your paint job, I really thought it was a....thing....with a cow catcher on either end. With your paints, it now actually looks like a train cab on either end. Great job!
