I pre-ordered the GUOP kit, primarily for the weapons. It's $20 on various sites for both versions.

I have the 115 Workshop kit (currently sold out on tfsafari) coming hopefully in a few days, so I'll that to compare to at least for the gap fillers part.

 

Gonna be honest, at first I didn’t really like this figure. This is mostly due to not really being able to get either of his vehicle modes together (the instructions didn’t really help). However once I understood it, this guy instantly became very natural to transform and I quickly started changing my tune.

 

Fully switched over to "Siege Scale" now that I have Ratchet.   Swapped out MP10-V, Zeta Hegemon, and iGear van bros. for Siege versions.

 

So am I the only one not impressed by 35th Anniversary megatrons effects? OP’s are good, but in person megs seem like just swaths of errant paint. Didn’t read as reflective to me. I dunno, what’re your thoughts?

 

I was thinking of doing the same or just going the shapeways route for the hammer. My GUOP has the ratchet set. I’m more than satisfied with it.

I'm trying to do the same thing with my collection. Currently need to switch out my MP Soundwave and Seekers for something smaller and put them on a different shelf. I'm waiting for Earthrise for the Seekers but want to find a copy of Siege Soundwave with the Shockwave's lab add-on kit. Anyone have a reliable US seller for the Shockwave's lab kit for Soundwave?

 

Soundblaster has the (almost comically) bigger chest window to allow for multiple cassettes. It's not subtle at all.

 

If that's the one I'm thinking of, I think it's not bad looking but it's too small.

 

Finally got Ratchet and, as usual, painted the sheiß out of him. He's really friggin good, even without my preferred color scheme. I never realized how wrong my Autobots looked without Ratchet until I got him.


His accessories are great too. Depending on configuration he's got: a wrench, a laser scalpel, a laser pistol, a laser turret, a magnetic hoist, and medical scanner. Not too shabby.


Lots of cool detail too, a lot of wiring and such. The medical tools sculpted to his left forearm are a neat touch too.


Its also surprising how many new parts he has compared to Ironhide. Around 50% new tooling on similarly shaped parts.


No vehicle mode pics, still waiting for the paint to completely dry, but it's just as good as Ironhides.

I also screwed up my fingernail whilst pulling the tires off to paint them, lifted it off my finger a bit.
Meaning the first TF to injure me bad enough to require a bandage... was the doctor.

P.S. I can't decide whether or not to paint his thighs red. Any thoughts?

 

I'm glad Ratchet is starting to show up - I hope The cassettes do us the same courtesy too.

The DNA design kits and yeah it is a tad small now that you mention it. I have to get the measurements on the shapeways one now.

Edit: looks like even the 3D print I have saved is too small for magnus. 3.6 inches tall.
