Its cool they have said its in space/earth by the end, but maybe due to the backlash around hitting earth so soon they retconed it cause not much in the way of cybertronian looking molds yet aside from Soundbarrier and ironworks at a push

I am probably in the minority but would buy all the Constructicons over again in WFC style. I know Omega was scaled for CW Devastator......but that new Infinities Series and WFC in general have me wanting them again. Make Long Haul Leader with all the guns and attachments then slowly release Voyager sized bots. And they of all Transformers should have weathering.

I agree the Decepticons don't have as much to sell.....maybe they go all in The Combaticons? That could be pretty cool. I wouldn't mind Stunticons again or maybe they do a big push for these Merc characters.

 

With the announcement of Mercenaries being made in toy form too. If all the cards shown in the TCG get made that will be awesome. Plus a new Octane based on that art work would be epic.

I'm mean technically the SIEGE Starscream mold has 2 cockpits. 1 in the front to show his traditional torso and the plane mode one tucked in the back secure enough that most people ignore it. If they do make a Rotorstorm mold out of Spinister the 2 shins might not even be displayed that way at all.

Sometimes I try to picture what goes on behind the closed doors of HasTak's Design Management dept. Hoping for the remaining figures I'd still like to have them make or remake while trying to factor in deadlines, budgets and the likelihood of which character being the main reason for a mold and the 2nd and 3rd tier characters who could still use the mold just for the sake of holding on the name of a character. I still think one of the main reasons they gave us Redwing was because they knew that Marvel's Falcon has a pet with the same name which is likely to get a big marketing push once the "Falcon and Winter Soldier" project releases. But I digress....

 

I know it would be quite lazy but I'd love an ER hoist with a remolded head that is just the alien mask he had in hoist goes hollywood. Would they do that? or am i thinking too masterpiecey

The more I look at Octane, the more I see a Rodimus Prime in it.

In particular, a Cybertron Rodimus homage.

Still would like a G1 toy/toon tribute but I suppose there’s no reason we can’t have both.

Heck, maybe you have “Rodimus Major” as a mentor to Hot Rod or Hot Rod holds a higher rank and gets busted down for recklessness.

 

wasn't Rodimus in energon not cybertron? I'd been down for that. but a sentinel Major animated homage figure would be bettter in my eyes. how exactly do you see rodimus from octane? just curious since I don't see it

 

For ER mold potential it could go a few ways, here are just some deluxes:
- Jazz mold (If we ever get one): repaints: Ricochet, Jackpot, Zoom Zoom Remold: Skids, Overdrive, Cybertron Downshift
- Wheeljack mold: repaints: Slicer, Exhaust Remolds: Tracks, Sunstreaker, Lockdown, G1 Downshift
- Hoist mold: repaints: Lift-Ticket Remolds: Trailbreaker, Smoulder?
- Cliffjumper mold: repaints: Bumper, Hubcap Remolds: Camshaft?, Runabout/Runamuck

 

Well, Energon Rodimus is a forward cab truck with a flap chest piece like this Octane. There are enough shapes in common for at least a tribute. Lasers in the arms where the pipes go. Similar crotch shape to Earthrise Hot Rod.

But let me clarify what I see about his transformation.

He’s not a true triplechanger.

The cab of his truck detaches to form his robot mode.

The trailer detaches and becomes a jet or a backpack.

His axe forms from the trailer.

Put the axe in his back (like CW Rodimus) in place of the winged pack and you have a beefy, squared off Rodimus like a cross between Energon and G1. Similar to Titanium Rodimus.

I see Lockdown as possibly a very heavy retool of Earthrise Hot Rod and Earthrise Rodimus as a fairly ordinary retool of Earthrise Octane. If you do a major retool there, you eliminate the glider drone/backpack and give him an axe backpack and battle station.

The Turbomasters would be so cool. Especially for those outside of Europe who didnt get the g1 versions.

 

Oh yeah. I hope The Turbomasters and Predators get more attention form Hasbro. They have such cool designs and colors.

 

I still say hastak would probably rename the predators and maybe stalker to something else we can't even get a cuthroat or an overkill, I'm pretty sure those both names fit in the "bad word" catagory

That sounds pretty cool, but would their accessories justify those higher price tags? Remember, the Constructicons are no taller than Starscream or Astrotrain.

 

Another thing with the baseformers in this line I wonder if a Slammer might turn up and have backwards compatibility with Metroplex??
