Legends revitalized my interest in collecting TFs, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them. NA, IF, and MS are doing great things, no interest at all?

 

I have many megatron in my collector but I ALWAYS go back to the rioter despotron. Hes sooo much fun n possible aside from the limited ankle rockers. Hope galvatron comes out twud be a damn shame I'd abandoned

 

Wel if anything they actually replied to a comment in their summer sale post (28th July) that estimated Galvatron's release to be end of this year, so fingers crossed?

 

I may be naive or not paying attention, but I’m little concerned that Maketoys had no presence at TFCON. I’m pretty sure they have in the past.

 

I think with the fact we've seen some Maketoys sales, I'd say they are done.

 

TFCon was a complete bust due to lack of Maketoys. Still, I can't help but hope they'll get Galvatron out... Sometime.

Also that Guardia reissue. I want my Guardia.

 

The last time they "participated" (through slides) in the 3rd party panel was last year. This year marks the very first time where they haven't sent in any slides.

But then again XTB/KFC/DX9 have had very minimal presence this year as well.

Conclusion: Maketoys is another one of Keith's offering.

 

Same here. I just want more CHUG Maketoys period. The MP Dirge being sent out to reviewers lately is giving me hope that they are still kicking, just holding back.

 

There's a difference between ambition and productivity. Just because they had "intent" doesn't mean that any meaningful progress had been made on that front. Certainly nothing that was ever released to the public to suggest that, at any rate.

 

It's funny how one of the reviewers already have his copy for sale.

EDIT: I saw it. I don't relate that to what Maketoys has going on.

 

Eh, that doesn't really mean anything. I know at least some reviewers get items specifically to review and don't keep them for their personal collections. In some cases they reach out to friends and fans to 'loan' them the figure, but other times they just buy a copy. In which case they often plan on selling before they even review it.

As for their lack of presence at TFCon... I want to say I remember something from last year (?) about them cutting back on or cutting out participating in conventions. Though I'm still concerned with the future, and especially the future of this line, since we haven't seen anything new in so long.

 

For those of you who don’t remember, I’m that annoying guy who compared the alt mode to a toothpaste tube balanced on toothpicks (before I put forth my criticisms more constructively)...but the robot mode is so interesting I would probably buy him anyway.

I really hope Maketoys is just in hiding rather than dead.  

 

I actually emailed Maketoys last week asking if they were still going to release this guy.

Just got a response today:

...i know you're just teasing, but it's worth pointing out that maketoys are one of the exceptionally-few third party manufacturers based in japan; they're very much doing their own thing and operating under an entirely different regulatory environment than most of their competitors...

 

I'll have some hope I guess. Not like it's costing me anything, nor is anyone else putting out a decent Galvy in CHUG scale....
