They could get a pretty good Downshift out of Cliffjumper.

AHEM.....Toyota Celica SUPRA.....there's two cylinders worth of difference there. And a whole lot more badass.

Now....just for the sake of "possible" repaint discussion.....the 82-85 Supra bears a striking resemblance to the Mitsubishi Starion/Dodge Conquest which Earth Rise Cliffjumper seems to appear to be. Could we get the Omnibot trio as repaints as selects just as we got the powerdashers as repaints??

That means they would all be smaller deluxes.

What other future Minibot could Override and Camshaft be made from?

Hmmm...Throttlebot Chase could maybe work as Override. Camshaft is a little more difficult to come up with.... IF a repaint is necessary. They could do a whole new mold for him and make up a con character to fill the role. I cant come up with another Rx7 looking bot.

Manta Ray! That’s his name! Yea I would love a new g2 mantaray figure and maybe a leadfoot one if they don’t do slapdash from mirage would they keep the rotor gimmick if they brought those guys back?

Chase does have the right alt mode. But as Iruini correctly pointed out to me earlier :D  Overdrive's chest is made from the hood oriented horizontally.
I think Cliffjumper could work for Camshaft, but I don't really see any other minibot candidates. I guess it woudln't hurt to have the other two guys be taller though.

And yes to Leadfoot from Mirage. Please, Hasbro.

Jazz and Overdrive make sense to me. This Cliffjumper is pretty close to Refraktor’s height and Jazz is on the short side of deluxes.

Is there any reason the Omnibots have to be close in height?

Walmart is known for telling companies with products that have a customer base that they have to make those products cheaper or they’ll slash orders. To a point where TV sets and electronics sold at Walmart were found to use cheaper materials than the same products elsewhere. Walmart has historically been able to say things that are, essentially: “You have customers. You need us to reach them. You’ll shave $.75 per unit off of what you charge us or we’ll make sure your customers don’t see your product.”

Similar to Amazon pushing Hasbro out of doing window packaging.

The giants tend to approach things from a POV of, “We want a product that retails for X and has Y features and we won’t buy your product unless you give that to us.”

From what I gather, big box retail buyers’ lack of interest in supporting or promoting limited articulation retro action figures is a main culprit behind both Funko winding down the 5.5” figures and the new MOTU from Mattel getting 18 POA.

The big retailers coordinate on what they want.

A lot of Hasbro’s Walgreens exclusives came from Walgreens’ requests. I know in particular that Hasbro was discouraged by Marvel from doing Fantastic Four product. They weren’t going to do it at all. Walgreens had a VP who wanted it. He said, “I can guarantee you X sales if you do it.” Hasbro was impressed and leaned on Marvel to allow it based on the quantity involved.

That's right! Jazz has the same hood-chest. He's a great candidate for Overdrive.

No. No reason other than the idea that it would be more "fitting".

I prefer Rotorstorm to have unique mold and be Voyager-sized. He must retain the cockpit chest.

Just a heads up at MCM London it was said that Earthrise takes place in space with the autobots and cons arriving at Earth at the tail end of Earthrise's story. They also Confirmed The Mercs Faction will indeed be showing up in the toyline. No new figure reveals though.

The question is would they? I'd personally take a mold mate of Spinister that for all we know could engineer some type of of cockpit chest out of the mold that could do Rotorstorm justice.

That is if they don't make another Voyager class Whirl and make Rotorstorm some type of mold mate out of him. If done right, I'd take either.

Perfect way to justify having both Cybertron and Earth modes in the next line up. Thus bringing over SIEGE molds they haven't replicated much of yet.

The mold would then have three cockpits.
