Well, he's not wrong. He looks like a complete mess. It's a terrible design. Even from a non-geewunner perspective.

 

You are forgetting the earlier colored prototype (which was just a CGI render?) I think some people assumed that was the "mock" one, and the grey one was real.

Yes, that's it. I'm not sure how similar it is to the grey one, differences could just be perspective.

 

That's probably based on the same CG used to make the grey one. That's definitely not the final Hightower arm.

The original color prototype we sae had a place holder for the other con, it wasnt and actual figure, it was just a chunk that the already designed figures attached to as a proof of concept. The new blue prototype is the actual figure now that its been designed and prototyped.

 

I never said g1 good movie bad. This character design was garbage, on par with skids and mudflap. They gave him balls, which is about as juvenile as that scene in the first movie where they basically ran the camera up megan fox's ass. I have most of the movie line, but this guy is a fucking trainwreck. I enjoyed the movies at first, but they devolved into pure garbage. I only finished watching last knight because i paid to see it. I actually liked the concept of all the different machines making up devastator, but the way they portrayed it was tacky and just ugly.

 

I don't get why everyone is suddenly turning on the set, even if Devastator looks bad when they fix him up it's still worth buying the individual Construticons since, so far at least, they've been some of the best figures in Studio Series.

 

I realize how "Devastator" looked in the movie was pretty terrible already, but this manages to look laughably bad. Maybe all in full color and posed the right way it could look closer to the movie's level of disappointing.

 

Yep, this is me. Born in '76, grew up on G1, but I'm so bored of G1 now. I'm enjoying the Studio Series far more than Combiner Wars, Power of the Primes, and Siege; heresy I know.

would love to see overload in his robot and vehicle forms, and it's a shame that they didn't bring extra prototypes.

I also don't understand why didn't they just reveal devastator's other components since they already have him all on display. Maybe they might release some renders later today

 

This looks really bad.  LOL   Put a rolling pin in its hand and it could be Revenge of the Fallen Wheelie\'s nagging wife.  LOL  I think what really throws it off is the prototypes are colored yet.  But I doubt it would make it look better.
