Yeah, I mean getting him to a scale accurate size would be super unrealistic. It’d need to be the size of a WJ KO to work correctly. Same old story as devastator himself, Animated Lugnut, etc

They could always pull a toyworld devastator with fake pieces to aid in making the figure seem much larger than it actually is to give off that impression of mass shifting

Fair enough. I'm fine with Scavenger being smaller than the way he was in ROTF. So was Long Haul, Bonecrusher, Grimlock, etc. I'm aware true scale accuracy is too much to ask for at $50, and I'm okay with that.

What I'm not fine with, however, is the fact he's even shorter than Long Haul, Rampage, both relatively small Voyagers, and even Scrapmetal, a freaking Deluxe, when he should've at least been as tall as Optimus Prime. I just can't look over that and it really sucks since I was quite eager on getting him.

Are we allowed to post something like a GoFundMe in here, or will that be violating some guidelines? Apologies, I'm trying to raise money to buy my older cousin a Unique Toys Challenger

A funny thing I observed about Scavenger is that if Red Goblin's chart is anything to go by, his height in the film head to wheel is about the same as SS Scavenger is wheel to wheel :lol
    vlcsnap-2019-10-24-13h12m12s281.jpg
    Megatron: 35ft
    Scavenger (head to wheel): 40ft
    Scavenger (wheel to wheel): 74ft

No way that happenin'. Unless a $100 Supreme Class toy of a hi-and-die in one of the worst films in cinematic history is something on Hasbro's agenda.

Okay so, my older cousin's birthday is coming up soon. This is meant for a cousin that absolutely loves transformers. Since my parents have a lot of financial stress right now I've transferred most of the PayPal money I've accumulated for selling Transformers. None of you are at all obligated to donate, It means a lot that any of you took the time to even read this. This is my first time making a gofundme and I don't expect to be able to make the money deadline, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Thank you

Yeah and also keep in mind that this isn’t even the robot that Optimus fought on the highway, that was Demolishor, who was white.

Granted, those two had distinct color differences to support the idea of them being different characters. Unlike the whole Grindor thing, which I foolishly believed for the longest time. Grindor was essentially an excuse to use Blackout’s resurrected corpse to rerelease voyager Blackout in a new color, but they changed the helo from a normal MH-53 to a CH-53 super stallion for whatever reason (definitely not continuity related though)

It’s a little funky I’ll give you that. I think the inherent design of the robot means that issue was pretty much unavoidable. He barely fits into the box thanks to how obscenely large his wheels are, and his head being right in the middle means that head-to-head scale is going to be messed up no matter what. I think if you straighten out the ab crunch he’ll look a little bit better, but it won’t magically fix the scale. I can’t wait to match him up with my little cyberverse Optimus Prime though, that’s bound to be dope!

Thankfully in this day and age, OSKOs exist. So I think if you want a scavenger and long haul to scale with your ss figures in robot mode, your wishes will be fulfilled at some point in the future. :)

I've seen a lot of comments like this and I'm still puzzled. Where does the super stallion came from? Is it in the movie, comics, behind the scenes?

I thought the CH-53 was seen as Grindor’s alt mode in the ROTF movie, but I could be totally off on that front.

On a totally different side note: the SS 2007 Megatron has really been growing on me lately. All this talk about price vs product and the scale debates over various figures had me thinking about how good of a deal this new Megatron is. Over time, the legs are bothering me a lot less, and the chest I feel is something I can look past once he’s in hand (now that I’ve had time to get over it). It’s a large, (seemingly) sturdy figure that has brand new engineering that’s also fully coated in a beautiful silver scheme for a $30 price point. I think I’m having a 180 in terms of my opinion on getting him (though that may be in part due to my bias for wanting the 2007 design).

Just when I thought I’d be getting out of the game too though... Here we go again I guess.

The TFWiki made a pretty good point. Like Blackout and Grindor, Scavenger the combiner component and Demolisher the murder victim are technically different characters. I don't feel bothered by his size anymore, but I think this means I'll be skipping on him until a real Demolisher joins the game.

The original Demolisher wasn't that much in scale either. Aside from the fact he was shorter than even modern Scou.. I mean, Deluxes. Remember, he was supposed to be transformed with his lower wheel collapsed forwards:
    images.jpeg-8.jpg
While almost every picture I've seen of him leave them ignored, which made him taller than the way his designers intended him to be:

It's a shame Scavenger lacked the customability of being able to increase his height, but whatever.

You can tell from visual cues that the two helos are different. The vertical stabilizers are different and the Super has a 7th rotor blade.
As for why it changed in canon? It didn’t. Or it shouldn’t have at least. It should’ve been Blackout resurrected. They probably changed the vehicles for filming because the MH-53 went out of service in 2008. But I also find it hard to believe that they couldn’t secure one for filming. So idk

Welp, looks like that answers my question about whether he can stand up vertically or not! :D
He looks awesome. Clearly he’s intended to walk on all fours those. Really hope I can get him at some point

Decided to let the universe decide if I get jetwing prime. Local target had him on the shelf but I knew about the date lock. So I brought it up and decided if they bypass it/it rings up I’ll get it, if it stays locked I’ll accept it and wait to buy it. It didn’t get rung up and they took it off the shelf. Sign acknowledged, I’ll hold off for a while.
