Why bother with the animated list. Toy Story 4 is a lock.

Toy Story 4 has it in the bag but I wouldn't discount Frozen 2 until it comes out considering the first one got the prize when it came out.

Other than those two I predict How To Train Your Dragon, Abominable, and I Lost my Body to be the nominees.

Yeah, I'm afraid Frozen 2 will take it.

While I think the Best Animated Feature Category often gives the wrong film the prize (a huge exception being to Into the Spiderverse), I'm not going to worry about Frozen 2 taking the prize until I see the final product. If it deserves it, the film deserves it.

Wait why is shaun the sheep 2 not on the list? No fathom events like dragonball and other anime films also. Not shocked playmobil is missing after the reviews.

Looks like Disney did not want lion king in the list to focus on frozen 2 and toy story 4. (don't they have the will smith bird movie also?)

So no lion king for animated film. (it would have lost anyways) Also insiders are saying frozen 2 is great from the looks of it.

Hidden World doesn't deserve shit other than perhaps an award for most efficiently torpedoing its goodwill and having a shit ending

I don’t even disagree with you. It wasn’t that good. But knowing how the Oscars work, Hidden World has a good chance at getting a nomination because of the past films getting nominations

The two films to follow in this race are definitely Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Irishman. Even though there have been some other masterpieces to come out this year (Parasite being an example), those are the two films people keep talking about.

I personally expect Marriage Story and Little Women to be front runners which is interesting considering the writer-directors of their respective films are boyfriend and girlfriend.

I think Joker will get some Oscar attention but I doubt it has a huge chance in many categories outside of Best Actor and Best Score. It will probably get an Adapted Screenplay nomination but I doubt it has a chance considering the competition in that category.

It should be noted that the Best Actor race is going to be one of the most intense races in that category in years. With actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Adam Driver, Eddie Murphy, Daniel Kaluuya, Matt Damon, Christian Bale, Brad Pitt, and even more, I can't honestly say who I think is going to take the award or even who I think the five nominees are going to be.

I think this is going to be a very interesting Oscars considering that the show itself is a lot earlier in the year (about 2 weeks to a month, which is a lot of lost campaigning time for these films) than the Academy Awards are most of the time.

Considering the intense competition compared to last year, I think the 2020 Academy Awards campaigns are going to be the most entertaining campaigns to follow in years. Expect Netflix to spend even more money than they did last year trying to get the Academy voters to vote for them.

I'm super excited for the Oscars this year and I fully expect this to be an insane year.

I hope The Irishman is snubbed since it is a direct to video film and Endgame wins best picture. An awesome F you to Martin Scorsese.

Strange that no actors are being pushed for End Game. I'm sure Ford vs. Ferrari will be in there somewhere.
