I'm very lucky to get this long-awaited ss-56 shock wave from a friend of mine. After playing for a day, I'm very satisfied. It can be said that it's the best one in the studio serious, and it's also great for reduction, detail, mobility, painting.

This is really a very good toy. I highly recommend it.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Not to be "that guy", but is he an extensive retooling/shared engineering with SS Megatron? The face-guards in tank mode and his upper thighs look almost identical. As does the way the tank mode seems to transform. Not that i mind, i was just curious. Also, does he have a right hand?

Yeah, he’s a bit of a remold of SS RoTF Megatron.

It isn't a remold. It has shared engineering, and a few re-used parts like the upper thighs, tracks in the legs and the pelvis pieces that unfold.
Pretty much everything else seems new.

    Welcome to TFW2005 :)

I think this guy will be the best painted mainline figure we'll ever see. You know Hasbro's done it when so many people are mistaking it for a custom.

My god, that's beautiful. Sculpt, paint, everything. Can't wait.

Also lol. DOTM Voyager Shockwave looks so awkward now. Poor guy.

I just noticed that his purple foot area is nice and un-scuffed, but his legs and thighs have the cool paint schemes. The feet almost look out of place.
Not complaining, mind you. Just an observation.

Seriously can't wait to get this. I'm as excited for it as I was for the Siege version.

My interest in the Studio Series line died ages ago, but I'd be damned if didn't add this awesome figure to the Shockwave shelves. Heck, I'm in for two!

Production paint. It seems like he uses similar paint techniques to Leader Class Grimlock.

I guess voyager + amazing paint can also = leader.

I'll take it over voyager plus lots of plastic I don't want = leader.

This seems like the better way to do it. I really like the paint and a deco that involved seems like it's worth the leader money.

This is obviously a large Voyager, with high parts count, and the parachuting troop and Wheelie and Brains up the price tag. How odd that in such a short time we are getting 2 outstanding Shockwaves in Voyager size, at Leader price point....

I for one would have bought this to just get Wheelie and Brains, lol. Lucky me, the figure is amazing too!

I feel like this prompts a ship of Theseus type question of how many parts need to be reused for it to still be considered a remold?
