I’m sure the brand unification helped too, as TT get more say on the design direction , not just Hasbro trying to horse shoe line wide gimmick on figures for the sake of having a gimmick. The quality output of Siege and Studio Series since the brand unification has proved that TT can be so much more than just a design house for Hasbro.

It's not really a design direction so much as it's more of a case that now that they've done a line of robots with Titan Masters in Titans Return, the tooling is now developed and available for use whenever Hasbro decides it's time to do Apeface or any other character who might use the Headmaster gimmick in the future.

Warden said they would carry over CW and TR engineering when appropriate. Why reinvent the wheel?

So do you think we'll see the Holo Mirage mold in solid plastic and in traditional colors with non-Cybertronian sponsors tampos in Earthrise?

Though honestly, I'd like to see it in this color scheme as somebody new

doubtful. none of the do overs in earthrise use siege molds so far, they are new molds and siege mirage is already damn close to his earth mode. it would be a waste of a deluxe to do him again along with a lot of the autobots from siege

All these awesome new GEEWUN figures look so awesome, but I already have shelves full of their old versions that are pretty great. I just got Generations Hoist and he is so fantastic, but this new one is just UGH level of good. I’m constantly battling over whether to replace them or not.

I can chuck them all on an “IDW” shelf, but when’s it just gonna start being the CHUG 2.0 shelf? I separate by year and faction into shelves. Things like Jetfire and Astrotrain appear prominently in more than one season, so I can put them on 84/85 and 85/86 shelves respectfully and not be bothered, but the rest are hard.

Sideswipe and Red Alert are really convincing, but I have the Universe and Henkei ones that all match up nicely with Henkei Sunstreaker. Maybe if they announce a new Sunstreaker (hopefully a new mold with the same alt mode) then I will replace/move the old and buy the new.

The Classics Seeker is amongst my very top Transformers molds ever, and I have all 6 in that form with Ghost Starscream on the way and plans to get the Botcon “rAInMAKeR” set. This new one just looks so awesome though, and I want it too. :(

Speaking of replacing old figures, surely Earthrise will give us a nice boxy GEEWUN Skids. I love my IDW one but he doesn’t fit super duper well with cartoon accurate bots.

Personally I’m holding out for a Leader Class Hoist, plus five Leader Class Dinobots and a Titan Class Tidal Wave.
    :p

Maybe after Earthrise or whenever they get to finishing the rest of the 84 cast they could go back to add earth modes to the siege figs, it just feels weird having half of the 84 cast be G1 mixed with weird cybertronian details next to mini-masterpieces.

I'm not saying they should do it anytime soon but when they do inevitably do Ironhide/ratchet again I'd like to see a design similar to energon towline to enable them to have their sleds.

Unused G2 Mirage is Generations Selects territory, and something I would absolutely buy.

I wouldn't put it past them to reuse the mold eventually though...I just got Mirage in and I have to say I was disappointed in his false hood being fully visible in the rear...I didn't notice it in the holo-version that I got earlier but its very obvious in the regular version...

Oh god yea, THAT was a cleverly designed homage, well ahead of its time yet managed to maintain the then-combination gimmick with other Autobots. If we get earth-mode do overs of Ironhide and Ratchet like that with their integrated weapon sleds, I'm game

Know what'd be a far-fetched but awesome idea?

Looking at the transformation and that clear-plastic on Holo Mirage made me think if they change the false hood to a regular detailed chest and made a Vehicon Mirage out of the mold.

So anyone got a clue as to why HasTak decided to change the base connection ports from Titans Return to a completely new connector piece come Siege Omega Supreme?

Like it seems like a glaring design flaw when Hasbro really wants to build on unified play design not just in the new War for Cybertron Trilogy line but with the Prime Wars Trilogy forward. I mean we have the same Titan Master mechanics from Titans Return in multiple Siege figures so it's not like they don't want you playing with older figures in conjunction to the new ones. So it just seems odd to me that they would decide to make Prime Wars Trilogy and War for Cybertron Trilogy bases natively incompatible.

I think we're more likely to see an Earth mode Mirage. But I do hope it'll be a retool of the Siege mold.

Also, watermelon Mirage is nice, but I'd like to see the G2 Mirage that was released at retail from that mold.

The newer ones connect easier and more securely and can be picked up by some figures (grapple). Omega has Titan ramp ports on him as well, so at least he connects to both

I'm fine with new standards coming out as long as they both improve on the old standards and can connect via adapters. Omega Supreme would be one expensive adapter, but at least there's some way to connect old and new bases.
