how is it awful? its true... at least I'm not blindly loving it for no reason.... its my opinion.... not every figure is perfect.... this one is far from it.... maybe you should watch the movie again to see how inaccurate it is

The MPM version does as it does because that's how Megatron is actually shown transforming in the movie. As a Masterpiece, they obviously wanted to try to replicated that as close as possible, instead of just inaccurately cheating the mass away like with this Studio Series version.

I'm not sure you understand the definition of shellforming.

Dude I have straight up trashed figures in this line, I am not a shill. Seriously, crying about electronics? Yeah lets just add to the already large backpack and increase the price. It even hurt the new MP Prime. A MASTERPIECE figure with the complexity of MPM 4 and the extremely simple aesthetic of G1 could NOT PULL IT OFF. Also, imagine getting upset that a line with 50+ releases without any electronics... has another release without electronics.

You are right that it does not open as wide as the first one, yet you fail to acknowledge that the first one completely screwed the resting face for a kiddie gimmick. His whole face is recessed and flat. That is NOT movie accurate. It compresses, but it does not get sucked back into his chest cavity. Again, it is a fair criticism to say the mouth does not open as far as the first, but to say the the old head is more accurate just because it opens more is lunacy.

Not going to lie, I like this Megatron better than the mpm. I guess sometimes accurate isn't better.

The only thing I'd really want is something to fill out the sides a little. There look to be pegs on the side, so I wonder if anything will connect to that.

One step closer to seeing this complete beautiful mess combined!

Eight members with eight completely unique designs, all with individual bot & alt modes... I think that's the most tooling that's ever been put into a single combiner?

They actually painted him silver? That puts him ahead of the previous SS versions, anyway.

These jokes are way over my head.

Yeah but that figure was also only 6 vehicles that only turned into limbs.
Meanwhile the Studio Series figure is 8 bots with 3 modes each (robot, vehicle And limb)

I'm still not fond of the kibble on these figures, like Rampage. Still, these look great. I may still go for the 3P version just so that Devastator is massive compared to the SS figures because this is probably the one time that I want someone out of scale.

Megatron is fantastic. Being dissatisfied with a lot of this line due to the handling of backpacks, I can build a nice, small collection of figures now by getting Optimus, all three Megatrons, and if we get Skids and Mudflap then they will go so well with the massive 3P Devastator.

Just wait for an oversized of this one, Bombusbee looks like shit, just look how Mixmaster and Scavenger are superior to their 3P counterparts

Looked a bit narrow like the legends version at first, but that one pic looks pretty similar to the quick scene of Devs jaw dragging across the ground.

Doubt they would risk 8 Ccons based on accuracy just to fudge it up with the head. There has to be a complete model of him somewhere to avoid all that.

However, on a detail I don't accept excuses... on the head of Devastator, there must be (absolutely) the two red horns... without, it is only a "regular skull"; since the one in the picture is just a prototype, there is a good chance that it will be present in the official product... (maybe, as an add-on)! Someone complained, because the head of the model Devastator is not "divided into two"... the reason is simple, because the head of the CGI of the film is divided into "four parts" (two parts the face and two parts the mandible), only when the "neck aspirator" is activated (positioning the four parts on the edges of the enormous flexible pipe)!
