Hasbro needs to make a second production run of Seacons.
    No tt mall
No weeklong limited time preorder bullshit
Just sell the damn things on Pulse like they did Hotshot and Nightbird.
The Seacons are a core g1 combiner team. And someone went to a lot of trouble redesigning and retooling the molds to make them. It's a waste of time and money. And the consumer base is not satisfied with the current situation.

Except problem it’s not up to hasbro it’s a takara exclusive mold set unlike night bird and hot shot who are hasbro/ probably a hasbro/takara joint venture

As it's been said many times before...This isn't a Hasbro product...this is a Takara Tomy product. Takara initiated, presumably Takara designed. Hasbro Pulse is literally only importing these, not producing them. They're exclusive even in Japan, as part of Takara Mall. Not the first combiner team to be TT Mall either. Defensor, Megatronia, Lynx Master, Baldigus just to name some of them.

The only thing really different, release wise, is that they're all being released single instead of in a boxed set ala Unite Warriors. Otherwise you can just treat this as a more expensive Unite Warriors set.

The last two Seacons have gone up for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse earlier today. Get the word out to anyone who doesn't know yet.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled program!!

That's what I assumed, but then everywhere else I considered preordering them like TCP, ToyDojo, etc., have been "sold out" for a while now, which confuses me, why they would stop taking preorders so far before the deadline.

    Thats my fucking point.
Hasbro needs to do their own production run of these
Hasbro and Tomy use the same steel molds. The same factories, and the same sweatshop workers.
Hasbro eeds to send an email to the factory and commission another production run of their own, with the intention to sell in Western markets

What was the point of this brand unifiction thing they were so proud of, when there are still Eastern and Western exclusives?

Brand unification has only ever really pertained to the main line. Each company is still free to do their own thing, but as far as the main lines go, the figures are the same. Takara are the ones that invested in creating these retools, they also don’t fit into hasbros pricing structure for domestic releases. Hasbro doesn’t need to do anything. Honestly they are already doing more than they’ve done since the bw days when it comes to actually offering Takara exclusive figures, something they haven’t done since putting bw2 figures on hasbrotoycollector.com

Here are three simple reasons that won’t happen, and you should just be happy to buy them at all

    1.
the brand unification made it so takara’s figures are exactly the same as the hasbro versions, no paint differences like with legends figures of say soundwave with a red visor and hasbro with the yellow one, now it’s all one color yellow
This applies to the main toy line
    Which the seacons are not

    2.
    exclusives are still exclusive
japanese fans had different shows with their own characters that don’t do well in a hasbro market compared to hasbro made characters that do, hence the seacons being made by takara because they only appear in japanese shows such as super god masterforce and beast wars 2nd

    3.
It’s like marriage, they share but not every thing is shared

The Seacons appeared in the marvel comics. And the originals were sold in the USA as part of g1
If we were talking about someone like Road Ceasar or Battle Gaia I'd agree with you.
Wait, we got Liokaiser in the west. And Black Shadow, Overlord, Metalhawk, Crosscut, and Getaway.

Also, pricepoints only matter because big retailers like Walmart and Target demand them. Just sell them through hasbro pulse or Amazon for whatever price is necessary to turn a profit. Like they did with g2 Sideswipe and skywarp.

    GIMMIE my Seacons Hasbro.

I would assume that (a) they'll be making about as many of the third wave as the second and (b) they're capping preorders from each retailer near their previous orders, so that (c) when Pulse orders weren't up and some people panicked and changed order locations, those places got far more orders for wave 3 than 2 or 1

They are, by making it convenient to buy the TT mall exclusives through their site (pulse) easily for the first time. So buy now or risk missing out forever, unless you like REALLY inflated prices on Ebay.

A week long preorder window is not convenient.
Especially not in the middle of the wallet blitzkrieg the last few months have been between Unicron, Mp44, Omega Supreme, sdcc and nycc exclusives, a dozen or so exclusives between Amazon, pulse, walmart, and target, and new waves of cyberverse, studio series, and Generations all hitting retail at once.

Oh I agree making us wait 20 days wondering if/ when pulse would list them was not very convenient, yet pulse also doesn't charge for preorders until they ship, so I won't be paying for seacons wave 3 until April.

But when is anything distribution-wise handled well on Hasbro's part? Final waves often are under produced and ignored by retailers.

pulse sends a preliminary "authentication" charge when the order is made. and though it usually disappears in a day or so, it's still a charge made to my account, and my bank still hits me with an overdraft fee.

Gotcha. Never noticed that, but probably because I use a credit card for my orders.

I agree with you. People keep saying “it’s a Takara exclusive, don’t you understand!” like it wouldn’t be the easiest thing in the world for someone at Hasbro to pick up the phone and Takara that Hasbro wants to bring them over. These companies are talking all the time. It would not be outrageously difficult.

There are two absolutely unconscionable aspects to this release: the limited availability/preorder windows, and the price (which is just bananas, and don’t give me the old “that’s standard Takara pricing BS”; it doesn’t change the reality that it’s totally overpriced).

notice all of the generations selects figures from hasbro still maintain their price points despite not being sold at brick and mortar retailers. also for the most part the multi packs have an increased cost justified by by the sum of their parts
    rainmaker 3 pack $80 (3 voyagers *$30=$90 for a $10 savings)
    fan vote 3 pack $70 (3 deluxes *$20=$60 for a $10 markup)
    alpha strike $50 (2 deluxes *$20=$40+ 1 battlemaster *$5=$45 for a $5 markup)
    phantom strike $50 (1 voyager at $30+ 3 battlemasters *$5=$5 for a $5 markup)

except given the context of the situation they are not overpriced, they are the same price from hasbro as they are direct from takara, cheaper even depending on the conversion rates. hasbro is not charging a markup on these
