Wow, I've got to say I think this guy looks better than the MMP version. He looks like he might be the best voyager of the SS line. I think the leg transformation to hide the wings works great. Was already excited for him, but now I really can't wait.

I love how they got the scapula pieces accurate like the CGI model, and the head is better than the MPM too.
But there’s still something off about him and idk what. I’m still getting it, but idk, I’m not as wowed as Bee, Soundwave, Shockwave or the constructicons.

One thing I know for certain is that I’m definitely gonna try to remove those fins from his innermost legs

Can someone answer me a quick question?

On SS ROTF Voyager Megatron, the panel that his head sits on, is that attached to the torso with a friction hinge? Or is it pinned?

The legs don't look as bad as they did before, head and jet mode look way better than the mp but come on, why couldn't they remold the torso piece? Was it a budget thing? Did all the money went to the silver paint?

Megatron looks great! I’m glad we have another look that’s proper so people can stop saying he’s trash from a single mistransformed pic. And the double jointed knees are so delightful! I’m much more excited for this one now.

Same! I like it when they stagger reveals AND releases as much as possible. I don’t want nothing for four months then half the figures for the year all crowded into a month or two. Early next wave would be awesome, then maybe the new deluxes in December, then the leaders in feb or March or something.

Just friction. It's easy enough to pop off, but a little more difficult to re-attach it

That's my main problem with the new figure.

Thanks! The reason I ask is the gorgeous color scheme of 07 Megatron is putting ROTF to shame. I was thinking of getting the Battle Damaged Megatron and mixing and matching parts with the regular one (the paint washed parts of the Battle Damaged, while replacing the treads and very dark pieces with the original's), which includes the normal head. I saw a cheap one on eBay with a broken neck joint and was thinking of getting it, since I would be putting on the original's neck joint. But not sure...

The MP still wins by far, but thats always the case given they are a higher price point. The head seems more accurate though. Idk where people see the better jet mode, It has his legs sticking out along the top of it, is missing his head at the front, and has his back folded up wings on the front.

You know what I just realized my biggest problem with Megatron is?

They made his hips ride way too high up on his torso piece. It doesn’t look weird on the ROTF Megatron because his legs look longer and less bulky. But on this 2007 one, it’s just weird. If the hips were moved down closer to the bottom of that torso piece, he’d look way way better. But there’s unlikely any mods that will fix that

Opened ss44. Still say they cut one too many corners, but my word, i love this thing! Weapons are fun, trailer is a lot more solid than it looked before and the grey doesn't irk me. Think I'll still paint it though. Well worth it. Though his truck mode, i don't think I've got it lined up properly, it's not flush. But that fade is gorgeous.

I also put this in the news thread, but upon closer inspection it looks like the front part of the cab is able to come off:
    73106559_560172234771827_7138580424526953295_n (1).jpg

I think for the final combined mode, that piece will end up on Devastator's back for better movie/concept art accuracy as his "grill hunchback." ROTF_Devastator_and_components_concept_art (1).jpg

I can accept this as a compromise for the combined mode, but I hope, like Scrapmetal and Hightower, this partsforming isn't strictly needed. I would probably have to find a way to mod it myself to keep it self contained. Even with the possible partsforming and the handlebar 'stache he's rocking, this is still marvelous considering he has to be arguably one of the most complicated parts of Devastator, as well as an actual vehicle and robot.
