Feels more like Furman deconstructed everything that was built in the '80's under his watch and chose that way to put an end to it. Primus gone, Matrix gone, all Transformers ultimately gone, Earth and Nebulos in ruins, with their civilizations gone, and Cybertron a molten ball of metal. After a few more millennia in the comic, like the Transformers never existed in the universe at all.

Sure, we see the beginning of a "new" generation, but that's probably going to go the same way, so why tell the story?

Pretty depressing; all it accomplished was to gut the entire Transformers world and hang a sight in the windo: "It is...WAS the world of the transformers. They're all dead now and everything's blown to crap. Go find a therapist."
