I'm 99% certain that we will see a toy deco of Hound. I saw him at HK anicon, and the fake wheels (mercifully) look like they can be folded away. From this, I extrapolate a toy deco.

I think the fake wheels might actually hold the feet together. It doesn't look like they have anywhere to fold away in robot mode to me. I contemplated tapping out the pins and removing them but I think it would affect the toy's stability.

I do think we'll get a toy deco though. Perhaps they'll simply remold those parts.

I must admit, that is a fairly sensible interpretation....  IMG_20190727_183837.jpg

With Wgeeljack your looking at a painted mp20 with a more accurate toy tampos and toy rocket launchers and in the fusis case tampis and chrome shoulder bits. I just think its quite a rabbit hole to go down. Then again if its ademand for them, maybe it could happen. Personally I rather see diaclone/ehobby repaints versus straight up toy versions, being they are most likely going to be mall exclusives and at prices now, Im not as interested.

Yeah, that's a rabbit hole of incredibly picayune proportions. I don't know that I can see it happening when far more interesting Diaclone redecoes could be done instead. But I continue to believe eHobby-originated decos are off the table, so no Detritus (or Roadhauler) forthcoming.

As long as I get my red Mirage I'm happy:D .

Seeing how 44 comes with a theme music sample, any chance Soundwave/Blaster plays " generic rock n roll music".

This is interesting. There hasn’t been an e-hobby deco in a while now that you mention it. Maybe the last thing I remember was an actual e-hobby release of the Diaclone Reboot Powered Suit A and B reversed colors that came out about 2 years ago.

Any other reason you think e-hobby is dragging their heels, or Takara isn’t partnering with them so much? Or could there be some licensing reason we aren’t seeing a Black Ironhide or Deepcover?

Did anybody besides @lord ginrai fill out a survey with mp-44. Next month there are two releases, if that vpn worked well enough we should pick some characters to spam. Particularly a bubble character with a good chance like a pre diaclone and a combiner/dinobot/moviebot.

There hasn't been any eHobby deco in Masterpiece that didn't appear in the Diaclone era or the original G1 era first. MP-11S Sunstorm is the only possible exception, but of course that deco and (unnamed) character does come from the cartoon, and 11S followed that deco more closely than the eHobby version, retaining only the name (which might actually have originated with Dreamwave, I'm not sure of the timeline there).

Black Ironhide and Deepcover also come from the Diaclone era and so should be eligible for MP releases but have probably been passed over (thus far) for other reasons. Black Ironhide in particular would make a very poor homage to the original toy with its drastically different cartoon-accurate sculpt, perhaps defeating the purpose?

I think it's just the current direction of the MP line in general. Which is cartoon accurate or toy accurate. Which is based on fan demand and sales more than anything. Which for me personally kind of stinks because I would love for there to be MP releases of a black Ironhide and red Sunstreaker (and when the time comes a blue Trailbreaker)- which would be a nice homage to the old Diakron line as well as Diaclone. I'd also like for there to be V3 MP releases of Bit Stream, Hot Link, and Nacelle along with a V3 of Sun Storm just because all four of them appeared in the original MTMTE pilot but I totally get Seeker-itis from MP fans.

The obscure characters simply aren't as popular unless you're really involved into Transformers toy history or just like a certain color mold.

I also desire all those homages and retconned new characters, but there’s no fear of the Diaclone repaints not happening. With Cordon being relatively new I think a Red Sunstreaker is only a matter of time. It was the first transforming robot ever made after all.

I think Diaclones are safe but the newer characters like Bitstream may be hard to imagine happening. Sadly.

Sadly I think you're correct. I'm one of the (few) people bemoaning the lack of redecos being sprinkled in the past couple of years, and though we've gotten some stuff lately, it's mostly + redecos. Takara could have someone get into a random mood and greenlight something inexplicable (the MP-15/16E cassettes based off the Encore Soundblaster & Twincast sets are weird and will get weirder the longer we go without a Blaster and Steeljaw), so as long as the tooling is available it's always possible (hello, Hasbro Asia). Yet with molds getting more expensive and retools still less plentiful, randos like Detritus and Roadhauler (sigh) are easier to axe when they carry only so must nostalgia to them.

The best bet to bring something like Detritus back to Takara's attention may be Hasbro, of all people, and some of the obscure stuff they're including in the Generations lines of late. Galactic Man Shockwave has renewed my hope a MP Shackwave could get done by Takara after all. I don't think it's a lock, but I went from mentally writing it off to putting it back in the land of the plausible.

As Ikstakk mentioned, MP-20 basically is a toy-based MP Wheeljack already. He's only missing the shoulder launchers (shakes fist at sky again that they weren't thrown in with MP-20+ like Prowl's launchers were with MP-17+). As also mentioned, the chrome chest option kinda take care of toy-based Fusos...BUT I'd also say neither is perfect. Both could use the shoulder thingies being chromed, plus little details being added to the shoulders/upper arms (moreso Inferno). Grapple, at least, could use a more toy-accurate head option. Tampos on the hips and legs could be added, a la Artfire. MP-12+ exists, so I think Takara could easily do a MP-33+ and MP-35+ that seem utterly redundant but carry minuscule differences but come closer to nailing toy-based likenesses than the originals do. Takara could even throw in a water launcher weapon and G2 sticker sheet and call it Inferno G2 Version, kill two barely different birds with one stone.

    I believe that's MPM-9 Jazz.

The special thing is that they're there at all. They're expanding their footprint, putting themselves in front of potential new customers and new licensing partners.

I was under the impression that this show didn't start until the 24th. Is it possible that they are just setting up and there is more to be shown Wednesday night E.S.T.?
