So what happened to all those Combiner Wars KO's in tons of different colors? Remember they were shown along with the downsized G2 Devastator? They released the downsized G1 Devastator & I never heard anything more.

 

They were trade show samples. According to several sources they are not currently moving forward with them.

 

Well, shit! I thought everybody was excited for the combiner limbs & they would have sold well.

It was a show for vendors. It's pretty clear barely anyone was interested if they dosnt move ahead on them.

 

The greatest loss from that bunch would be the G2 colors downsized Devastator. Wish they'd still do at least that.

 

Yes. I don't understand why they aren't doing G2 Devastator when the G1 version seems to have been such a succes.

 

Paul at Sir Toys spoke to the vendor at the show. Told me they would move forward with mass production if there was enough interest.
Was really looking forward to these as well, hope something comes from it.

 

We don't know that it was a success. There could be thousands of them sitting in a warehouse in china for all we know.

And, it was riddled with problems and ended up being a fragile mess.

 

Obviously, we never know that, unless some of us "know". But it did seem like a lot of people were buying them.

As to the quality: saying it was riddled with problems etc is quite a bit of an overreaction when there were just a few reports of breakage that were easily solved. And it was always going to require careful handling since it was a downsized toy.

 

There is no interest in the shit that I want. Yet with every new wave, everybody is always after the 1 figure that I'm after. The one that I want most is always the most popular one, the first to sell out & the hardest to get. Funny how that works.

Yup, that's the stuff we'd been informed probably wasn't going to happen. Notice he still lists it as CBB, it's the same manufacturer as the previous 1:1 KOs.

 

I can't believe Fireflight. He was RED in both G1 & G2 so what color do they make this KO?  

 

Well, this franchise is creatively bankrupt anyway, but I agree that they could have at least given him any other color.

 

Don't forget the Red Defensor too.

One could complain about Onslaught being red too I guess... but to be fair to them there isn't many colours that he has not already been.
I guess it's somewhat quirky that we now have so many versions of the same mould family in red though.

I think it's easy enough to swap Firefly with Blast Off - or "Pretend" it's Silverbolt.

I can't say I'm super bothered what colour they are as they are likely going to be something I use mostly as a means to provide limbs to existing Hasbro toys that lack them - such as an all jet limb team for POTP Starscream.

 

I wanted to get 4 Blast Off shuttles to repaint into Scourge to be limbs for Cyclonus. But I thought of it too late & Amazon had already sold out. This would have been the perfect opportunity to get 4 shuttles real cheap. But no, they had to use the stupid jet mold. 

 

I was really hoping for a 3rd party, CW sized shuttle, as well. The more I look at my CW Bruticus the less I like him with that plane. Instead of plunking down $40-50 on the Hasbro shuttle, I would rather save those funds toward a nicer 3rd party Bruticus. The changes to some of the other CW limbs atleast had a back story that made some sense.

 

The green Alpha Bravo might make for an alright Target Hawk.
