Why BotBot collections are so hot-hot

Have you ever thought about getting some BotsBots? Are you wondering what they are? They’re these wonderful mini-Transformer toys that change into different figures. We think you should start collecting them. They are really awesome!

They have many different styles and different groups. Some groups are Techie Team, Swag Stylers, Greaser Gang, Music Mob, Sugar Shocks, Toilet Troop and Spoiled Rottens. There are many more. There are also different quantities like common, uncommon and, the best of all, rare. You could be lucky and get one that is rare.

We also had some kids in our class give their opinions of these amazing BotBots:

Sean Pittman: “It is very boring when you play by yourself, but it is very fun when you play with your friends.”

Justin Lopez: “They are very cool and they are like the original transformers.”

So let’s talk about how to get them. The price depends on how many you get in a pack. They can cost from $3 to $15.

The details and creativeness of the BotBots are amazing. We think the slushies, sharks, viruses, hot sauce, and watches are really cool.

I was a tad irked that when shopping on Amazon.com there is no option to buy the "used goods" from Amazon themselves - the option just isn't available on anything I try it on. otherwise i'd have chanced my arm on the gaps I have with Series 2 (since the distribution of series two was pretty terrible in the UK).

I got my Bakery Bites in the mail - not a mark on them - they didn't get crushed at all even though they were only in a mailer bag.

The TF Wiki is giving the impression that the Lawn League 8 packs are on Amazon - but they are not so I don't know where they got that idea from.

As I said before I guess I'm lucky that the Arcade Renegades set is reasonably obtainable in the UK - all I had to to was sweet talk a retailer into selling me a specfic Magic #6 set.

I have been thinking about Photographing Botbots mosts as we are just kinda spining our wheels now - while waiting for the London Comicon reveals. But I don't like to photospam to much as some people object to that in discussion threads.

But I would personally like to see any impression of interaction of Botbots with Bases they may have ?
I've been wondering how they go with things like Rescue Bot playsets for example. As well as Titans Return Bases.
Like the security themed ones raiding Chief Burns' Office. I've got a Playmobile Policestation playset kicking around somewhere - i'll have to look into that too - I see some people on this board have the Playmobile Ghostbusters HQ - I wonder if Botbots count as possessed items & would be something Ego would be interested in ?

NOTE : I've pasted the article and the image from the article as it's Geo-Blocked so some won't be able to easily see it and also.

I wanted to post the image as I was wondering where they got the poster from - or is that a opened spred of the Sticker book rather instead ?

This line really does need a cartoon. Interesting that none of the young fans shown are girls - as I've said before I think Hasbro was trying to capture some interest from Female Shopkins fans too with this line, Though the one the quote is a girl.

Oh & a Virus ??? (do they mean Spoiled Rottens perhaps).

I would be interested if similar text to this shows up elsewhere - as it does read like a Puff peice put up by someone who had never laid eyes on the product perhaps based on something Hasbro PR sent them.

I can see that happening if the Newspaper is in Hasbro's sphere of influence geographically speaking, as its based in RI like Hasbro is.

Ironically the ones that are Rare are often the ones that are not considered Rare at all - As attested by those having trouble completing their Single Pack figures.
Or How so few of us here have The Lawn League sets yet.

Unlike Master Pitman I don't find them boring at all.

When I saw them stocked at our local Walmart, they were with the other Transformers. Corporate PR talk is one thing, it's been my observation that in the real world most little boys have zero inclination to step foot down the pink Barbie aisle unless they're racing to their wrestling toys down the way (and those boys are almost always RACING down that aisle carefully avoiding eye contact with the shelves) and vice versa for most little girls and the boys aisle. Outliers obviously exist esp in certain regions, but that is still the norm. They can buy endcap space that is both a good promotional location and a bit of a demarcation zone between the cooties and boogers aisles. ;)

There are six variants of the multipack. The eight showing are always the same, the blistered/mystery spots are either 4 more different Arcade Renegades with four more from earlier series. The one marked #6 has all 16 AR Bots. People are buying them in bulk and returning the ones marked #1 thru 5 since they don't have the complete set. I questioned whether or not this was honking Amazon off. Selling six $30 packs is great until they have five of them returned and then have to sell them all over again, hoping those aren't returned again. Given that Amazon seems like a major retailer for the line, Amazon's frustration might compel Hasbro to rethink blind bagging $30 packs next time.

Thanks for the response. Geez, yeah, my worry would be that eventually they will only have 1 - 5 packs and no more 6 packs. It's kind of sad that they didn't just make the 6 pack. I guess that would take away the "randomeness" but geez. No one wants a half set.

I was thinking of ways to make my Target restock BotBots (They still have S1 and S2 deadstock). So I was thinking about buying them all and giving them out to kids on Halloween (alongside candy). So on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad of an idea is this?

Depends on who you ask. If the kids end up liking Botbots too much, the parents will rate your idea a -10 because they might have to buy them for their kids. But I guess that also helps get rid of your Target's deadstock.

I think most everyone here would recommend him. Just stay away from the single-packed version. If you didn't already know, they placed a horribly big product code on the front of the duck mode.

My fear is that the kids will think they're stupid and toss them away. Either that or the parents yell at me.

There's always multiple ways of looking at everything.

Kids tossing them would be pretty sad but there's nothing you can do about it. You wouldn't know if they tossed candy they don't like either. Parents yelling at you would be the least of my fears. They make plenty of little Halloween trinkets like spider rings or eyeballs. If anything you're giving them a product of much higher quality. And parents complaining about free toys? Shame on them...?

Finally, beyond a Botbots addiction, these are much healthier for kids than generic candy.

It is a lot of money to spend depending on how many trick or treaters stop by your place each year. It's a tough call because it's money you're spending but getting nothing out of. You only have to hope your Target actually restocks with figures you want, if they restock at all.

In the UK - in Sainsbury's stores they seem to keep moving them - the shelf ticket is next to the Cyberverse toys - and the actual stock keeps being placed next to the LOL Surprise and similar products UK Supermarkets barely bother with toys at all - except they are usually infested with Blind bag tat of some sort and other blind packs Shopkins rip off products on cards. It all gets thrown together with no real seperation boys from Girls.. I do think though that if the Girls were aware they exist that the Swag Stylers and Goo Goo Groopies are more focused on a Female interest and the Male interest product would be the Techie Team and perhaps the Spoiled Rottens, Then there is others which I guess have a degree of neutral appeal like Greaser Gang and Playroom Posse. I suspect Hasbro is HOPING they can pick up 30% of sales from Girls as that is about the gender split on the characters... (that we calculated the other week) I guess the next question is - which characters could be said to be OVERTLY Female focused - overtly Male focused or Neutral. I have a suspicion that it may be pretty close to being 2/3rd Male and 1/3rd Female again on that criteria too. I don't actually mind at all I think any rich fictional universe needs variety to it so even without much fiction for the line one can still image a variety of situations due to the broad nature of themes on offer. I can see how those lads pictures above might turn their nose up a bit at getting some of the more Feminine or infant focused items though. Oddly I find the Pacifier/Dummy one of the most interesting figures in wave 3 as it's such an odd looking quasi-angelic alien robot form. I'd certainly like a Blue or Yellow repaint of it as a Lost bot perhaps.

I wouldn't want to encourage anyone to do this - but I remember many years ago there was some issues with flooding of certain things like Tuner Mudflap, or Various Movie Bumblebees preventing stores restocking newer toys. The solution some came up with (a bit naughty perhaps was to buy them up a few at a time and take them to a designated dumping ground store. So instead of all the Targets (for example) lacking getting new figures due to Mudflap infestation taking up the shelf space - one store had a ton of them and the others were able to proceed normally. The same idea was applied to figures who shelf warmed.

It might even make Target's ease of ditching or clearancing them easier as it's easier to box them up and send them back to the warehouse if they are all in one store (where they can be sold on to the likes of TJ Maxx - which is what Target does) who would then spread them wider and thinner give them more chance to sell eventually than if they are in a few Targets with dozens in each. I remember one guy got so sick of it that he went around 5 stores and bought 80 of them and dumped them all on a single place. I thought that was a bit ballsy - but from a certain point of view perhaps he was doing those other stores a service. This sort of coc*blocking has been known to kill off entire toylines or come close to doing so - and example being Deanna Troi's figures so seriously failing to sell they put off many places from ordering Playmates Star Trek stuff at all.

Given the Bakery Bytes went up on Amazon recently, very likely via them.

Even if they don't restock, it's a great idea for the kids.

You could always ask if they'd like a set. Never hurts to ask. The biggest problem you might have is that it may set a precedent for people hitting your house next year.
