This is a little something me and my partner have been working on for some time. Really, this has been 13 years in the making. An intense amount of work has been put into this fan edit of Armada, re-titled here as Mini-Con Legend (because it's just a more sensible title isn't it?).

This fan edit features the first two episodes of the armada dub condensed into one half hour episode. Numerous lines have been changed by pulling audio from other episodes, sometimes even other shows. I've tried my best to fix the numerous dub errors where I can. The whole audio soundscape has been remastered; new sounds effects and many changes to the music, as well as generally giving the whole thing a polish. The visuals use the Japanese version as a basis, and have received further enhancement, improving many shots with better lighting/shading, sometimes redrawing/remaking whole shots. Many shots have been extended for widescreen, with others upscaled. The whole thing has been remastered in HD with great care. There's still much more I wish I could do to this show, but I think this will do for now. Perhaps I'll work on something bigger in the future.

Also, Billy and Fred have been removed.

 

Here is the second episode of our Mini-Con Legend fan-edit.

This was originally episode three, Base. A rather infamous episode, animation wise. Contender for the lowest quality animation in the whole series, quite possibly. So I had my work cut out for me. It wasn't easy but I have managed to replace virtually every single shot. I don't think it quite matches up to the quality of the first episode, though. Even putting aside the animation, this was never a great episode but it is quite an upgrade, so hopefully it's a lot more watchable now.

 

Here is another little project. Fan edits of Robots in Disguise 2001. Not nearly as intense a project as Mini-Con Legend, but I did make some pretty neat visual improvements. Also, of note is the only way to see the RID dub is to buy the UK dvds, due to legal issues. Those dvds however, suffer from some rather bad pal conversion. This has been remastered using the Japanese dvd footage, which has then been given a thorough re-grade.

Even in Japan, this show never looked that good. It is unfortunately stuck in that awful position in history, where anime's starting being animated on computer but were still mastered on videotape. BW Neo was shot on film and Micron Legend was edited ditigally, so they escape this. This show will never look as good as them sadly, but I've done what I can.

The audio has also been put through a remaster, as it sounded rather flat and lifeless. I've also sort of fixed up the problem with Megatron taking so long to get to Dr Ohnishi, as well as some other little tweaks.

So anyway, if you want to see this dub in higher quality, this is the only way to go.

Another episode of our RID fan edit. A bit more complicated this one. Combining two Bullet Train episodes into one, because I felt the original episode 3 didn't really hold enough of a story. Quite happy with how it's turned out.

 

Here's the next Armada edit. Unlike the last two, this wasn't a really excellent looking episode to begin with, so lots of little shot replacements, especially on Sideways. Should be an interesting one.

Watching these edits every now and then always gave me a glimpse of Armada's true potential with these subtle dub edits, along with splicing the more polished animation into proper scenes. As of right now with Rebellion, I think that has been your best edit so far. It would've been interesting to see the whole series played out in your vision. Judging from when most of this edit was made, It'd suck if around the time the real world "shut down" put complication into this edit.

 

Has this project been abandoned? Please upload more episodes, it makes it so much more enjoyable to watch!

 

Hi there, I'm not sure whether or not you have read some of the other comments on this forum but has this project been abandoned? It really looks good but I wouldn't mind it if it had been abandoned. Unfortunately, one of the edited episodes has been blocked on YouTube and I was wondering if you can DM the finished episodes you had done to anyone who might ask. Because these edits do look pretty cool.
