No, seriously. Was there a rumor of a possible MP reveal at this autoshow?
I'm a bit befuddled as to the excitement.  

 

I see Mercedes-Benz is also exhibiting... what if Takara reveals MPM-10 and it's DOTM Soundwave?!  

 

My money is on Tomica reveal

 

Tweet made it sound like their appearance is TF related.

 

Hasbro is scheduled to be at the show. People have convinced themselves there's no reason for Hasbro to be there unless they're announcing a new licensed MP.

 

I'm with SunSwipe5 on this one. I can see Hasbro and Takara bringing so è licensed Transformers at a motor show to gain some attention from car lovers, but I think a MP announcement would be a waste in such an environment.

 

The tweet says there will be a transformers booth.

I'm intrigued and sorta confused. I would like to see something new Masterpiece wise, however I just don't know if this is the right place to do it. If they are though, I'm leaning towards Jazz. Isn't this the last Japanese show before the Generations book comes out?

 

Maybe they will reveal MP Menasor; a Porsche,Ferrari,Lambo,F1 and semi sonds like a winner to display at a car show.   Im leaning MP49 cliffjumper gets revealed and mp50? Jazz prototype. Who know maybe Porshes condition all this time were aspects of a real world interior. Jazz with seats and a steering wheel, maybe will get another spike.

 

Here's an alternate theory: I floated this idea maybe last year or so and there was little interest, but I still think it's something Takara ought to be looking at. They've been having success with the Diaclone Reboot line. Car Robo was a big part of the original Diaclone line, and I think Takara should bring it back. It's the sort of subline it would make sense to unveil at a car show, as they would be based on modern cars, not 80s models, and they could drum up interest among car fans who aren't necessarily into Transformers. Any new, cool cars could potentially be part of the line. Not really Masterpiece, but maybe something more appropriate for this venue.

 

Kind of a doble edged sword, it would be interesting to see a Sideswipe made from a modern lambo, but its also the chance ot leads to further dilution, especially with other eras of Transforners coming up. The line could end up eith another reboot splitting G1 with neo-G1 and I dont know how well that would go over.

 

Okay, Takara. Point is, an MP announcement is very unlikely. They're more likely to be showing off already existing licensed figures.

 

This thread is in need of some serious news .
If there's a reveal this month at the car show, I wonder if they would go totally left and reveal a TFTM bot. Nothing like concept cars at a car show.

i think a toy repaint of Hound is more likely than a Detritus repaint. We haven't had any ehobby repaints that were a diaclone release yet.

I think its supposed to be a Detritus in the Earthrise line. I think they will follow tge same with the MP, since its a totally differnt take on tge mold. Maybe they will do the toy deco but by that effect they would have to do the earlier cars with tampos and paint. Which Im sure would irritate a certain percentage of this board. Maybe they would wait to roll out new versions of the lambos and Datsuns,but Wheeljack and the Fusos would definitely be in line for toy versions.

I don't see them on the list. It looks like primarily Japanese brands with only a few European brands like Mercedes Benz and Renault.

The plain old MP-20 seems toy-accurate enough to me. And the Fusos with their swappable grilles seem to be all-in-one releases.
