    I have perfectly symetrical( "swirls on mine on the forearms and shoulders. After thinking about it i realise it can't be a swirl. Its where the plastic injected into the mold from 2 different ports meet
    Any way you can do a vid showing how you made this work?

    Since FT/XTB is so much better in handling replacements, it won't be long before they can sell direct without going through NA retailers. I mean why bother?

    Wow.

    I’m just reading all these posts. Hmm. I am so happy I didn’t pre-order/buy this (instead put my money to good use and purchased Obsidian’s “The Outer Worlds” for PC and picked up GT First Aid ♡)

    So not only is he not as advertised; he’s prone to cracks and breakage.

    I guess I’ll wait for the eventual v2.

    Simple. Because shipping an entire run to a handful of locations via freight and dealing with one transaction for every hundred or so units is quite a lot easier than managing hundreds of individual payments, customers, addresses, and packing/shipping hundreds of individual international parcels. Economies of scale are a thing.

    When I first looked at the color, I thought it looked like Indigo Blue... When I held up a color swatch of Indigo Blue from my phone, it's a spot on match.

    Which is interesting, because indigo as a color is considered between blue and purple. Or three parts blue, one part purple. :)

    I remember the good old times, when there was blue, light blue and dark blue. And that was it. There was also a purple and analogue photography didn't go nuts when it took pictures of it (unlike digital today). THE END.

    Now I look at pictures of Sovereign and the repaint; look at pictures of Quietus and the repaint; look at pictures of Jabber and the promo pocs.... I look at my monitor color settings, then look at the Sovereign I recently rebought and at Spoiler.... And I reach this conclusion:

    Fuck colors. Fuck them hard. Wish it was simple again. Colorblind people must be the happiest TF collectors.

    Was this out of the box or from the stress of the transformation?

    I've got a great eye for color either way... That being said it's a great figure either way. =)

    I will try to make one later tonight. I'm out getting pumpkins with the kids and doing decorations for Halloween.

    Got Blurr yesterday from TCP. No cracks or stress marks out of the box. I transformed him to alt mode and while it took a considerable amount of time I was able to do it successfully without adding any stress marks to the one problem joint.

    Put him back in robot mode this morning and added the autobot decal. It went together pretty smooth and still no breaks or stress marks. Really outside of that one area I find the transformation to be pretty enjoyable.

    Also he is most definitely not blue and seems a perfect match to the paint used on Cyclonus' wing flaps.

    Here is Blurr next to my previous favorite Blurr from TFA.

    I was just really busy with other things when Koot arrived, so I just took him out of his package and threw him in the display. I intended on transforming him at some point and just never got around to it. With MP-36 it was kind of just a matter of laziness, it looked like a giant pain in the ass to get him into gun mode, which I knew I would never display him in. From the sounds of it there is a good change Jabber with crack/break so I'm just not willing to chance it for an alt mode I have no desire to display him in. However, if someone comes up with a more worry free method or a mod, I might give it a shot.

    It was out the box. Didn’t even start the steps to transform that part. I put some glue on it to hopefully strengthen it

    OK, this is fair. But at the same time, the implication that it's OK for specialty retailers to not cover returns properly like normal brick and mortar places feels very much like lowering the bar. Being domestic also means that returns are going to be way faster than getting parts from overseas.

    Also: we don't know yet whether FT's service for this figure is up to par. It's too early to call. And assuming that weeks long process goes well, you're still left with the question: how exactly can you transform this thing without breaking it? I'm gonna wait for everyone else to figure that out.

    Maybe adding a layer or 2 of clear nail polish on the problematic area to give better durability. Just a thought.

    Wow, really glad I dodged this bullet at the 11th hour. Henceforth I will only put deposits on pre-orders so such disasters can be mitigated easily. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come with Magnum, my most anticipated FT figure and figure in general!?

    Edit and tl;dr;

    As of right now given my copy is now showing the signs of the hinges breaking after only 1 transformation if you actually want a transformer I can't recommend him at all, as chances are he's going to break on you.
    Until FT remedy this that the way it'll stay.

    If you're in the market for a good looking bot that can transform but you'll never do it jabber fits the bill.

    Original slightly updated post;

    Its funny, when I 1st got him out of the box I was underwhelmed to say the least. Its not like he's an A list character for me and even with lowered expectations from reading this thread.
    But I've changed my mind, after doing some comparisons with my existing UT one he's a clear, if flawed, upgrade. I've always thought UT's a somewhat underrated figure at that too.

    Pics and thoughts;

    When it comes to alt mode FT's easily beats out UTs, the overall shape and lines are far closer to the source and it cleans up a hell of a lot better, I actually find it quite beautiful once its all tabbed in properly. UT's is prone to gaps and exposed hands but I like the rear view and it has slimmer side on profile.

    However, the process of getting there is night and day and UT thrashes FT in this regard.
    I picked my UT off the shelf and transformed it without really having to think about it, having not done so in at least 6 months. FT's on the other hand is clearly from the same era of their kup and arcee, un-intuitive and laden with clearance issues. You can tell its been designed and waiting to be released for a very long time.
    The calves/vehicle back is odd, those side pieces that cant clear the arm assembly which have broken form some and the obscene amount of force to get the front tabs secured, no, its not good.

    Accessories wise its FT all the way, the UT target master is woeful and his other gun just OK. They do combine to make something like the longer rifle but again its not great. FT's have better sculpting and the target master is light years ahead. Neither hold them great it has to be said.

    [IMG]

    Bot mode wise I was expecting FT's toon-centric take to be too plain, and my initial take was just that.
    Side by side though I have to say I think the plainer but more accurate FT look is the winner.
    I was impressed by the way UTs cleaned up and it still holds up in that regard, FT accomplishes it slightly better in some places, slightly worse in others but its more convoluted.

    Articulation wise FT has more limited shoulders, but it on par or slightly better in most other areas. I actually found him easier to pose.

    Target master bot modes isn't even the same sport, let alone ball park.

    So then, after this I'm somewhat happier with my FT one.

    Nothing shocking but UT's is a better figure to mess with, especially if you want to transform it. FT's looks great in both modes but sacrifices fun and seemingly sturdiness to do it. I do have the start of issues with the hinges so the capacity for breakage is high imo. I may try removing those and seeing if i can just have them parts form. Its a shame and Im not sure its a price worth paying.

    UT's looks out of place and the things I thought would stand in its stead, like the highlights and little visual nods actually detract from it, and its clearly less accurate.
