I wanted PotP Wreckgar because I didn't have any other versions to go with my 86 team.

 

thats true, but they are seperate releases still. the platinum edition release was years after the rts release and in a different subline while the cw/uw releases of ratchet were concurrent and in each companies iteration of the same series. when quantifying number of releases its important, i feel, to specify if you are speaking of all releases, all releases from hasbro or takara, only retail etc otherwise things become overly convoluted  

 

Yeah... I also bought him for the same reason. I have Junkheap from ...RTS I think? But Wreck gar eluded me at the time so I was happy to buy the PotP release.

 

I sold my United Wreck-gar and bought the Walgreens one because I liked the boxy proportions more.

I felt RTS Wreck-Gar looked more IDW/Bayverse.

Same reason I sold my TR Hot Rod when I got PotP Hot Rod. I'm generally going for the boxiest and most cartoon style take.

United Wreck-Gar had the cartoon colors but he didn't look burly. He had an almost hunched over zombie look.

I expect I'll trade in for a new Wreck-Gar soon-ish.

I'm expecting to get a new Cyclonus, Galvatron, Hot Rod, and Rodimus inside 5 years. Scourge is a maybe. I'd be surprised if Blurr and Kup outperform TR for me. Arcee would be tricky. I need a good Blaster. I think Siege Springer and Ultra Magnus will be the last ones I ever buy.

My 84 shelf is nearly complete again thanks to Siege and Earthrise I have a feeling they'll get me to re-buy the minibots with the scale shenanigans. The old ones should be a match for Siege scale but Cliffjumper is bigger. I always wanted a complete 84 lineup. I can't decide if I need the Powerdashers and Omnibots to feel complete but I've talked myself out of it mainly because of how outmatched that makes the Decepticons. As-is, I'm going to end up plugging in 85 Decepticons and crazy seeker repaints and some of my favorites from elsewhere like Nemesis Prime and Slipstream.

But in terms of cycles of collections, I can understand people not having other Ratchets. I'm sure somebody probably sold off their collection or has been sitting on a 2005 Botcon Ratchet for 15 years. Or Animated or Rescue Ratchet.

We don't all replace at the same rate and people may take breaks from collecting when something hits. I think Siege is PROBABLY the best Ratchet we've ever had. That said, based on what we're seeing, I also think the NEXT Ratchet will probably be even more cartoon accurate and probably come out within 5 years so we'll be having this conversation about whether to replace Siege Ratchet in 3-5 years with a figure that's 20% better but has a red headcrest that some people might not like.

 

I just want to say I really appreciate you checking every so often and updating all of us. We have very few "insiders" posting on the boards.

Walgreens near my job in Olivette, MO restocked...with Refraktor, Brunt, and Hound. It's progress, I suppose.

 

So after checking into another Hasbro item for someone, it has the same "open order" delivery date as ratchet for my store which is next Friday. I havent seen any planos but I would have to guess based on that info, we are getting some sort of mixed hasbro display. We have gotten floor displays of toys in the past, we got a nerf one this summer. If thats the case, it might be after Halloween before stores work them onto the floor. Kinda just depends on the manager and staffing, etc at how quickly everything is switched over.

 

One store I was at recently had a Hasbro endcap. 90% Marvel with some Star Wars.

I wonder if that’s the spot to check.

 

Has there been any luck on Siege Ratchet or any other Walgreen Exclusive?

The endcap technically is supposed to just be a marvel endcap. Not everyone follows the plan. Lol We did just get in some DBZ exclusive just loose in our totes this week, so who knows. Hopefully next truck it will be in so I know how its coming.

 

Well this is the week. We shall see if Walgreens decides to ship stores the stuff the rest of the world has had for 2 months.

 

When exactly should we start checking stores? On Friday or maybe even Wednesday?

 

Walgreens has added Authentics to their site, and added Star Wars Black Series General/Clone Commander Obi-Wan to the site, soooo maybe soon?

Yeah, I did too. I almost didn't because of the shipping, but I really just would rather pay the 6 bucks in shipping than have to search Walgreens stores for 2 figures and star wars collectors are ruthless.

 

Damn. Only other exclusive I was waiting on was Obi-Wan, but guess I've gotta check stores now because he sold out lightning fast online while I was driving... But he and Armored MMPR Black went up today, so surely Ratchet will follow soon right? All Hasbro after all.
