I think I get more custom work done at my work desk than at my work bench. Anyway, hand cut (because I don't own a 3D printer...yet) from styrene. I etched grooves and layered thinner plastic for detailing. I used spacers for support struts in the legs so they were slightly inside the cavity rather than right on the edge of the opening. I also made pieces for the forearms, just so nothing hollow was showing during standard posing. Painting to come...
I just scrolled past it real quick, read your comment and had to go back because, honestly? I thought those were 3D printed to fit. How in the heck were those cut by hand?
That means a lot. Thanks! Thanks! The secret is practice. Lots and lots and lots of practice. This is actually the best fit I've gotten on fillers for a long time. Even so, they are either slightly too tight or a fraction too loose. This is why I want a 3D printer. Until then, more practice.
So very cool bro,....I like it. I just got my Impactor yesterday and at the moment hes in tank mode. I really like what you did here. Do you have any suggestions for a person that missed the WFC Seige Ultra Magnus leg and arm fillers cause i want them but nobody has them. Also want a few other things in fillers, guns, extras periods but don't know how to get them.
Not a one. The Dr. Wu filler were decent, but some were loose and needed glued. If you have the availability, photocopy the piece that you want to make a filler for, then use the copy for a stencil to cut out of plastic. That's what I do a lot of the time, and it works perfectly.
Great work! Although I've bought and used styrene a few times, I never really could get the hang of it.
I honestly have to keep telling myself what I'm looking for in those pictures because nothing looks out of place. That is some great color-matching.
It's a combination of Vallejo sunburst yellow, a drop of red and a drop of tan, with some floor polish thrown in for durability. The purple is Citadel Geneatealer mixed with some Vallejo grape.
The hardest part is measuring the areas, but in all honesty, it ends up being pretty simple. Also, the round pieces are thin styrene run through a hole punch.
Updated with a new sword more befitting a brute. It's a modified from movie heli-Drift. I dyed it black, then added some color to the hilt and along the blade, and added a 5mm post to mount it on the side of the tank mode.
