Impressive. Most impressive. Great to see this and a very well done custom  

I've always felt Alt Mirage was too dark (the G1 toy was a lighter blue and had a lot of silver and white in robot mode), so back then I wished they'd gone with the deco Wheeljack got (which doesn't fit with Wheeljack, because blue ain't his colour).

But then I've come to see Alt/BT more like Diaclone: cars first then tobots. Nevertheless, I think still would've preferred a different deco: british racing colours. Would also fit with his snobbish character

In other news, I'm hoping to pick up shelving for my MISB Alts this weekend. Pretty excited about it.

 

Don't spend much time in the official forums but I had a little more downtime at work than I knew what to do with so I decided to poke around and came across this thread. I did love me some alternators back in the day and I keep them on a shelf at my desk. Here's a pic I took a few months back.


Goldbug isn't an alternator but he's close enough to the right scale and the alternator line was severely lacking in Bumblebee. Not pictured are Tracks or Battle Ravage cuz I could never figure out a way to make that mold look good.

Still makes me sad that I never found this figure and only have the Tracks repaint for a Ravage. Always hated that figure - whose crazy idea was it to just stick Ravage's head on Tracks' body?

Saw someone wishing for a reboot of this line. Gotta say that, with MP going more and more toon, it would be amazing to see a new line of 1/24 scale Transformers with modern engineering and super faithful alt modes. Fully modeled interiors, rubber tires, nice metallic paint jobs, actual molded and chromed headlights (so beautiful!), and none of the opaque or blue windows. I could go for either the old 80s alt modes or new ones like they did in the alternators line.

 

Huh, never thought of the oversized Goldbug for this line.

 

I mean he doesn't fit aesthetically at all but I got him on a whim as a deskbot (this was before I got into Legends) and my Alternators lived on my desk so it just kinda' made sense for him to join them. Scale is roughly correct but that's about it - painted headlights and just the overall finish don't work at all. Still, I like him well enough so there he'll stay.

I hear you. They unfortunately haven’t retained their value throughout the years. I was recently could only sell the 7 I had for $100...o’ well.
