I had been watching those pretty closely and wondering if there wasn't potential retoolings of them coming to set them firmly in the Transformers universe in some form. Wonder if this is what the "new project" will be?

Either way, more trainbots = more better.

A new Raiden would require two entirely new torso bots and four very heavy retools for the limbs. If that does happen, they'd probably be more expensive than the Seacons.

What if it's a new mold that will share engineering with a future LeoKaiser? That way, they can get some additional money back off their investment.

This makes me think the G1 toy and the "new project" are two different things.

While I agree that the original JRX/Railracer toy had issues, it's still one of my favorite combiners. I'd love to see a redesign, with Midnight Express being less leggy.

If they want to introduce a CHUG style update for Railracer, I\'d definitely be willing to put up some cash for it. Still try to work in my original with my collection whenever I can, as it is.

I'm hoping for a new Generation Raiden BUT if its CW style, no thanks, Titan Clasa or go home, sit down and shut up, why?

If we get a CW style Raiden, retool or new mold, it will have all of the limitations and downsides of CW style combiners which are present even in King Poseidon AND it would mean no USA WFC Titan Class Raiden release. Titan Class is the proper scale for Combiners in scale to Generations WFC> all CW are severely out of scale with everything except other CW style combiners.

I'm sure a Titan is too much to hope for but if om going to hope at all, I'm going to hope for the best, most authentic and faithful representation.

Looks like you need two new torso bots, but then could get away with the same mold twice for the legs and the same mold twice for the arms.

Without knowing more, it's also possible they could use one core mold four times with slight adjustments to produce the limbs, then focus on the torso bots.

Regardless, that's actually putting him at an advantage over the Seacons. Each of the Seacons are variations of a given base mold...but they're still 6 unique figures with no obvious reuse (save for God Neptune).

But if you can use three molds to produce 6 figures (or 4 to produce 6) then the only real hit your taking is on the torso bots while the limbs basically become retools of themselves.

And they've still got the real budget Project in their backpocket: Liokaiser. All four limb molds already exist, including head sculpts. All they'd need is the dual bot torso. And if Raiden sells well enough...they can apply the lessons learned there to build Leozack/Jarugar.

Heck. Depending on how they pull off Raidens torso...perhaps those molds can be retooled into Liokaiser's.

Seems like the big talk is the torso, everone seems to be in agreement that if this is a generations combiner we're going to be re-using combiner wars tooling like we are with King Poseidon.

    but here's a thought.

we have already had two generations combiners with two part torsos, Devestator and Predaking! Its a long shot, and its even less likely since we got our titan announcement as Scorponok, but what if its the start of some insane generations selects titan class Raiden combiner box set? All of the tooling for limb combination would be similar to Titan Dev! OR maybe its a micromaster scale Raiden with potential for a future sixliner re-tool, i guess we just have to wait to find out. I'm just happy we're getting something ever since Zeta seemed to halt work on their Raiden.

Bit of an aside, but a titan Raiden would have fit much better in Earthrise than Scorponok i think. Dont get me wrong, i couldn't be more excited for Titan Scorp, I've been waiting for this announcement since i started collecting, but from a purely thematic standpoint for Earthrise, last i looked outside i saw many trains, and no skyscraper sized purple and green scorpions.

I think its because Shinkalion train bots are duo combining units into a single bot. Raiden consists of 6 trainbots combining into a massive fella. Would be a heck of a retool thou. New molds are needed. Makes more sense.
