Well if this is a new Raiden figure, color me excited! He's a character I have wanted for some time. Nothing against the G1 version, but I would love to see a new one with modern engineering. Maybe each one could come with a track section part so that when you get all 6, you have a railroad for them to go on. I can't wait to see what comes of this!

Raiden! A reissue or a new figure, please. I'll take either or both!

I hope this project is very similar to the seacons.

Well now ..... I'm not all that big on combiners and my knowledge of Japanese G1 is somewhat sparse, but this is very, very cool. I've loved trains since I was a kid, and trains that transform and combine into a giant robot? What's not to love?

I passed on the Seacons because although I like the looks of the individual figures, I don't like them enough to justify the prices, and the combined mode is kind of meh aside from the giant trident. If they decide to do generations figures for these guys though, I may just have to start saving some money for them. :)

So October 31st -> Window closes on final wave of Seacons.
Dec. 3 -> Likely "Project Raiden" kick off.

That would probably put Super Megatron's reveal (and preorder window) sometime in November.

Besides "Is this a new figure" the next question with Raiden will be "Is this the *next* thing after Super Megs?"

Because Takara Selects went Star Convoy -> Combiner team -> Super Megs -> Possible Combiner team.

So maybe they're using the standalone retools to pad out the line between combiner projects? Like, there's the possibility we'll have something teased alongside Raiden that will come between it and the next team (Liokaiser? Road Caesar?)

Well, if it’s real trains that turn into a giant robot, and they deliver, I’m sure as hell buying them.

pretty cool...I would imagine it is a reimagined modern take rather than a reissue but they did reissue those rare cassettes not so long ago...

Correct me if I\'m wrong but, ok Raiden is the Japanese name, but is there an American name or I\'m I just thinking of the trains from rid 2001?

The other thing it could be (however much a longshot) is a passenger train modeled after Raiden that serves as some kind of trip/experience.

I don't think he ever got a US name because he never came stateside.

    *GOOGLES*

Well, okay...if you reference the old "Omni" dub, he was "Grimlock."

The one thing that I think I’m mixing up in my mind is Raiden with the Micromaster sixtrain team.
