Blurple, lol. Good one. The color is closer to Indigo than anything, which contains more blue in the RGB spectrum than purple. That being said, it is not true purple but also isnt a true blue, per say...it is something in-between.

The swatch below is a close representation of how it looks in hand. The sheen on it makes it a touch "deeper" or "darker" depending on lighting and the eye of the beholder.

I have a good eye for color and dont find it offputting. I will say I dont feel it is particularly accurate to Blurr's darker blue coloring. I can see how it isnt sitting right with some. It is a bold and slightly odd choice, imho. I dont mind it, but it is def a departure of sorts.

So I got mine yesterday. Definitely looks slightly light purple under certain light. Robot mode is great. Transformation isn't bad, UNTIL, trying to get that calf piece around the arms. There is no way to do it without stressing that plastic. It will eventually lead to a break. You are forced to push on a plastic piece to force a metal hinge assembly between 2 spots that don't have any give. That calf filler piece just adds to the problem. I have been collecting TFs since G1 and have experienced a lot of transformations where you have to force one piece past another. This is by far the worst. Usually I can find some way to make it work(Koot). I never got Jabber into Vehicle mode for fear of breakage.

I planned on him spending 99% of his time in robot mode on display and he looks amazing and I am happy with him in that regard. But I am disappointed I can't transform my transformer without eventually breaking it. I think i can hit a spot with a dremel and make it work with little to no cosmetic or structural issues but I shouldn't have to.

Stoic is the way to go with your set up. While it still looks good IMO, action poses do make it look a little cluttered and the way you have it now is awesome. Also, no XT Skids for your set? Christmas gift maybe? :D

Dude, you hit the nail on the head. Look familiar? Yeah. Fun. Fun. OK, not so much. I was seriously pissed about it last night. What you describe is exactly what happened.

Yikes... I hope this isn't FT-14 Forager Part II.

Forager had a lot of reported breakage and my figure even included a note advising the delicate nature of the wings. Fans Toys later reissued two of the insecticons, but they never reissued Forager... perhaps for this very reason. :(

ah, sorry - from what i could see everything else looked lined up well, and i knew on mine that when i fitted the die cast piece in and under there are a number of other tabs that went in, but the thick tab piece at the back of the nose section that fits into the arm assembly near the front would not go in and kept forcing the die cast clip piece out (took me a while to work out what was going on), so i 'adjusted' them and it all went in. Sorry i wasnt of help.
FT quietus and dracula are 2 of the very best pieces in my collection.

Kind of feels like XTB and FT have had role reversals. Fiddly over complicated transformations, tolerance/breakage issues, coloring issues.

(I'm playing devil's advocate to a degree here, as I've always thought FT's reputation for quality and XTB's reputation as being subpar were dubious and unwarranted.)

In regards to the light blue calf pieces fitting over the arm assemblies - it helps if you drop the front of leg grey section about 4mm (keeping square to upper section) before attempting. Then its a case of trying to fit the square metal piece attached to the cover square into the gap in the arm assembly (it wants to go in diagonally).
Its still a complete a*** though, even after cutting of all tabs to allow easier clearance... but as mine already had a glued crack i had to do this without applying any stress whatsoever.

I made too many irresponsible purchases this month. If it's still on sale in Nov I might.

Sadly, I doubt I will ever transform my Jabber fully. I just dont want to risk it. It felt like a Bad Cube transformation but with diecast pieces. Diecast is great but it shouldnt be meeting plastic at that joint. That metal pin joint has zero give and any stress put on it is transferred right to the small blue connector it goes through. I think this is going to be a widespread issue. Handling Jabber, it feels and looks like an older design compared to Roadking, Maverick or Spoiler. The engineering and attachment points is like night and day.

I've contacted my retailer, TCP, and they said I need to contact Fans Toys about the broken piece. Will update once I hear back from FT.

I'm actually thinking about cutting a slot in the light blue plastic hinge so the panel can pop off instead of straight up break.

Not a bad idea, basically make it into a clip on part similar to the MakeToys Seeker nosecone. Not ideal, but better than breaking.

For ME, it's already upsetting that I bought the original purple FT Galvatron only for them to release a more accurate blue colored one that I wanted.
Then they decide to release a Purple/Pink Cyclonus when they already got me and most people here to buy their original blue version.
Don't even try to take me back to Shockwave.
And now, here's Blurr in a blurple.
    Not this time FT.
Fooled me once shame on you.
Fooled me twice, shame on me.
    Fooled me the third time....um...uhhh????
I'll be waiting on the correct blue version, 3 times is enough to fool me, thank you. :p

On that hinge that is breaking - is there space around it to the point where it could be bulked up a little if necessary?

I've found gorilla glue is excellent for weak hinges like this, if you have a little room for it to expand and it's not a visible joint. You can use it to encase the plastic part of the hinge, it acts something like a stress absorber and lets the joint bend a little without snapping.
